The Green Papaya is open for lunch and dinner service every day of the week. Carry-out is also available during lunch and dinner, including Sushi.

Story

Green Papya is locally owned and managed by husband and wife, Sak Kertpet and Sunee (Ta) Panichluechachai, both originally from Bangkok, Thailand. Sak was a Chef in Boston and moved to Cincinnati in 2000. Responsible for managing the front of the house, Ta is also a Sushi Chef. Together, they have developed many unique interpretations of Sushi rolls, Thai curries, and noodle dishes. Sak is delighted to cook "Thai style" or adjust the spice level to tamer standards; but he never compromises on the flavors and high quality standards Green Papaya is known for.

The sushi was good but not outstanding. Prices were average. Had the crunchy chicken pad Thai. Was very sweet and just not very good. They have 3 levels and I got the middle one. Expected a lot more spice. The papaya salad was very spicy. Kind of unexpectedly so. But the salad was the best part of the meal. Probably would go elsewhere next time.

Curry was sweet as if it was a dessert although i ordered it medium spicy! Pad thai noodles were not crispy at all. The thai tea was the only decent one and deserves one star.

Friendly wait staff, a variety of food to suit all diets, attention to detail and care over the food provided to customers. The water was always not very good (understatement), I'm not sure why, but we would sometimes bring our own bottled water since we were not on pop & wanted to save a little money. Everything else, though, made up for the water fact. I have been here at least 20+ times.

The place was nice and the food was good. It was really helpful to have vegan & vegetarian friendly options that were real meals (as opposed to some of the appetizer-level options available at some places). Service was laid back and made sure they weren't rushing people, but not in a bad way. I got the mango curry and the flavors were balanced very well and it was a good amount of food for a lunch special. Parking isn't the most convenient sometimes, but the place is worth the parking frustration.

This place is absolutely delicious! The ginger salad is wonderful and the sushi rolls always taste good. They are a little pricey, especially compared to other sushi restaurants in Cincinnati, but still have wonderful food.
