The sandwich was disgusting. Against my better judgement I ordered and it was gross. The place was dirty.
I just think they should stick to one kind of bread and if they are going to advertise a big long hoagie they should be able to have the bread in hand at all times for it. I have order twice in this past year and both times they didn’t have the big long bread they advertise. They gave me two small ones instead or I should say one medium size one and a small one. It taste amazing just get it together with the bread size.
Growing up, Greenman's hoagies were the best, always a treat, worth the 20 minute ride to get there. Then for years the 2 hour drive to get them. Then they changed hands, many times possibly, and the quality sank each time. We were in Philly last week and got hoagies. We ordered 12 inch tuna and Italian hoagies. They both were made out of 3 four inch ends cut off of other rolls, which were not fresh and were not Amoroso's. The contents were sparse and the lunch meat did not seem like Dietz and Watson at all. Probably the worst hoagies we ever purchased in or out of Philly. Never again.
Owners were very nice and friendly however, unfortunately the "hoagies" we ordered might have been the worst excuse for hoagies ever. 2 thin pieces of meat and a stale roll- that's all! So disappointing! We were hoping for an "original Greenman's experience. Complete waste of money. If I could rate a 0, I would. Last time visiting this place. Shame.
The owners are pleasant, hard-working people. However, nothing is priced. They change their prices frequently. The store, for the most part, is cleaned inside and outside. I know it's a convenience store, and it is conveniently located, but price wise, you're better off going to the grocery store and buying in bulks.
Stopped in Green and deli today for the first time in 10 years. Walked in and walked right back out! The place smelled like rotting food and the lunch meat looked horrible. They really need to change the name!!! The new ownership cannot hold a candle to the Greenman's of old. It's a shame!!!! Once.....the best deli hands down, not anymore!!!
Wendy and Mike are truly the kindest and caring people. A blessing to the neighborhood. During the worse of the pandemic they have gone above and beyond to ensure customers were taken care of and continue to do so.
Monster hoagie has been some thing I’ve enjoyed here forever a decade, whenever I’m in town I always plan on getting one to eat there and one to go
Greenmans hoagie has been a staple in the northeast philly area for decades, I have not been there in years and was sorry when the grant ave store closed but knowing that the original greenmans is still around is awesome, the family is very nice an always on point. I did hear that they sold it to family and hope they keep greenmans around for a long time!!! "The Green Monster" I know them personally, went to school with Adam and his sisters!! I hope the Greenmans are well! You will see me soon for a turkey hoagie!
Trash! This place should not be allowed to even be called Greenman's! They are doing a huge injustice to a neighborhood staple! They really need to change their name, because for years Greenman's always meant quality, and fresh products...this is a disgrace!!!
