Doctor performs great surgery, but very poor patient care by doctor and his staff. Mom had two back surgeries. The first, she's unprepared - not told to bring a brace or medication. He hadn't even talked to her for two months before. Afterwards, he nearly let her go home hours after a psychotic episode due to painkillers. Zero follow-up and a real struggle to get anyone to even call in a prescription. Had knee surgery after the second surgery and called the office before to inform in case their were concerns. 5 months after, she's told it may screw up her back alignment. It took nine months for a follow up appointment. Nurse read her chart today - multiple mistakes on medication and health questions. After waiting over an hour to see the doctor, she just left.

Had surgery 2 years ago and he was helpful the whole time before the procedure. The staff was very nice, and Greenwald sounded like he had a very good understanding of what was going on.

Was able to diagnose my bulging disc after a year and half of misdiagnosis by other doctors. Had surgery and it went as great as surgery can go. Following the surgery I felt significantly better after a couple months of healing, but was still having lower back pain. Only complaints that I have is that I was told by Greenwald to "move on with my life", and to do things that I would do before my bulging disc after about 6-8 weeks post-op. I went about my life and as time went on my then mild back pain has now progressed again to chronic back pain. This is about a year & half later. I was told by a chiropractor that I probably should have had physical therapy after the surgery to build back up my core and prevent my spine from compressing again after having some of my disc removed and no hardware to support it. Also Greenwald "doesn't work with attorneys" (my bulging disc was caused by an car accident) and if u want him to he charges a ton. My attorney paid for me to see another neurosurgeon in Pocatello. I would have to say that in my experience Greenwald will listen to you, your concerns, and is a very talented neurosurgeon, just a heads up about the attorney stuff & the possibility of needing physical therapy after the surgery.

Dr.Greenwald performed my surgery and removed my brain tumor. People that did not know me when I had the surgery can't even tell that I ever had one. Not only is he a skilled surgeon, but he is a very considerate person. He is always cheerful and friendly when I have follow up appointments. I would recommend him to anyone without reserve.
