We have been going to the Greenwich Village Animal Hospital for several years now for our cat. They are amazing. Professional, kind and thorough. It's so reassuring to know that we're in good hands and our cat is being taking care of well.

I took my cat to a Dr.Alison Shea with a constipation problem. The first question asked me was, is he spade--YES---the second thing she noted that his teeth were weak and they had to be removed. After the removal I asked what about his constipation (which I had paid $500 and no cure offered) she proceeded to remove his bowels with her finger. Visit cost $1500. I took my second cat to her and first thing she said OH, HER TEETH MUST GO and she has a tumor. The cat was treated for her tumor $15 00 I refused any tests for cancer, I did not think this was a problem. I than told her that the cat was eating like a vacuum cleaner. I received a very long pause where she said nothing. Two years later the cat was losing weight so I took her to the animal hospital and school at York Ave. I discovered she had a thyroid problem which now was affecting her heart. I could not let her suffer though she seemed happy at 4 pounds. NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM. A helpless sick animal is not in honest true good hands.

I cannot say enough good things about these vets. They saved our cat's life and they held our hands throughout the process. She was diagnosed with fibrosarcoma and we were counseled to have her back leg amputated after the tumor was resected. It was a difficult decision but one year later she is alive and well. Dr. Sane performed the surgery and spent TWO nights over the weekend at the clinic with her after her surgery. Dr.Shea oversaw her care before the second surgery and between treatments. Thank you Dr. Sane and Dr.Shea and to all the staff at GVAH.

I've been going here since my Molly was 4 months old. I love Dr. Sane and his assistants. Appointments are easily made and there is usually no wait unless there's an emergency ahead of you. Dr. Sane is caring, compassionate, direct -- and a wonderful diagnostician. After Molly had surgery at Blue Whatever, she wasn't doing well...they had forgotten to give her antibiotics and she was really ill. Dr. Sane had wanted to do the surgery, but I opted for the "expert" uptown. With no ego and no attitude, Sane did what he does best. Fixed the problem. No problem. The fact that it's around the corner isn't too bad either.
