I love this store for one reason... The friendly service! It is not the largest store and they do not have the most extensive selection of meats or produce but they have the nicest customer service around. There is one African-American gentleman who works on the floor stocking and it's always super friendly and helpful. He always has the nicest Outlook and just makes me feel great every time I see him. If he sees you in the aisle he will go out of his way to come over and say hello and ask if he can help you. If you pass him he always stops to look up say hello and greet you with a warm smile and wishes for a good day. Gristedes prices are slightly higher then one of the other markets in the area but not quite as high as others. They have a decent selection of products and most everything you need and in addition they will deliver for no charge if you buy a certain minimum amount product. On Thanksgiving when I did not see a turkey breast the size I needed I asked and the butcher went back and cut a breast off of a turkey and packaged it for me. You don't get any fresher than that! Like I said the service is exceptional it is always a good experience to shop here.

Prices here are just a bit higher than my Neighborhood Grocery however the service is always excellent. It was one guy who works on the floor and is always super positive energetic and friendly. I am always impressed with the customer service in this store. They have a scanty produce selection and a small meat selection but if there is something you need the butcher is happy to cut it for you from the back fresh and ready to go. This is a very nice store

This Gristedes is on the south side of West 96th Street between Broadway and West End Avenue. There is a ramp entrance suitable for those using wheelchairs.

Like all the other Gristedes, this one sells overpriced foods with some exceptions. It is nothing special and even at rush hours there are at best two cashiers so you may have a wait in line.

They sell delicious store-baked pies for a reasonable price of $5.99 or $6.99. 

Convenient store for those in the neighborhood but better to shop elsewhere if you want to save money.

Friendly staff at this location  but to be honest Gristides stores are very expensive. I only buy here when its absolutely necessary ..

Priced like Whole Foods but they're open 24/7 so I can't complain. Those miniature shopping carts are just absurd enough to warrant a visit even if you're not shopping.
