Story

Groton MRI is an outpatient diagnostic imaging facility, serving the needs of South Eastern Connecticut. We now offer a traditional 1.5 Tesla MRI in a claustrophobic friendly environment with a relaxation room and a highly skilled technologist staff.

Groton MRI is proud to introduce its GE Signa 1.5 T MRI with Echospeed Plus Gradients. This high field MRI will allow us to offer a variety of diagnostic exams with amazing picture quality.

Please do not hesitate to call with any questions or to stop by our office for a tour. You can have your exam in complete confidence knowing that our site is accredited by the American College of Radiology, "ACR". We strive to make your MRI experience as pleasant as possible.

Directions to the Groton Office:

Coming from the North heading south:
1. I-95 S to New London/New Haven
2. Take exit 86 toward CT-184/CT-12
3. Merge onto Kings Hwy
4. Slight right to stay on Kings Hwy
5. Turn left at Long Hill Rd

From the South headed north:
1. I-95 N/US-1 N toward Providence
2. Take exit 85 for US-1 toward Thames St/Downtown Groton
3. Keep left at the fork to continue toward Long Hill Rd/US-1
4. Slight right at Long Hill Rd/US-1

The staff was warm and friendly. They made sure my comfort was a priority. Way easier than dealing with a hospital. They had me in and out with a disc of the imaging to bring to my doctor.

Please note that I'd like to see this place make improvements with imaging, for if they offer a better price than competitors and can do it with good quality, then they'll be an asset to the region. My review is as follows: My wife went from our home to Groton to get an MRI, then she went to her Dr. in Putnam. When there she was told the MRI was too blurry to be usable. She then went back to Groton to get a replacement. How can the technician *and* the radiologist have allowed a blurry MRI to have happened in the future. She had to then return another day to the doctor, postponing the important diagnostic evaluation. She ended up paying extra gas, wear and tear of the car, etc., plus the cost of the additional dr. appnt. all because of the objectively unacceptable imaging. I made multiple contacts about this issue and it took about 5 attempts and months to discuss the matter. I asked for a bit of compensation, which would cover a portion of the trouble, cost, etc., however they gave inapplicable excuses. I paid my bill in full and prepared this review. The reason why I'm giving 2* instead of 1* is the 2nd MRI was acceptable. Until they've resolved their issues, it is a risk to use them. They really should offer an incentive to be used again and then I can redo my review if the experience is improved.

Poor quality facility. Thought I was doing myself a favor by going somewhere less expensive than a hospital but should have gone to L&M.They also sent me to claims court for $180.00 I moved and changed my address with post office but wasn't getting the bills at my new address I also never received any calls from there office about a bill. I have never been sued before especially for less than $200 I find that strange especially since they didn't even try to call me about this. So beware of this place just go to L&M.

I have had MRIs at the big hospitals but so so glad I found this facility. I learned it is independently owned, not affiliated with the hospitals, so my insurance carrier is happy to be able to pay less for my MRI. It is a small office, you feel like you are walking into someone's living room, one patient is scheduled at a time, lovely coffee table books to read, beautiful houseplants to enjoy, complimentary Keurig beverages, and the staff is wonderful. I even left with a CD of the images. Thank you, Debbie, Michaela, Trista, and Tracy for making my MRI experience a pleasant one.
