Grove City Division of Police
The Division of Police is part of the Public Safety Department under the direction of the Public Safety Director.
The Division is organized into four operational sub-divisions, Field Services, Support Services, Investigative Services and Communications, which report to the Chief of Police.
Field Services consist of the Patrol Bureau who are the first responders of the agency. Major functions within this area are Patrol Operations, Bike Patrol, Strategic Response Team (SRT), Traffic Crash Investigations and Honor Guard.
Support Services is organized into two operational bureaus. The Community Services Bureau is responsible for D.A.R.E., School Resource Officers, the Citizen’s Police Academy, the Explorer’s Post and Community Relations. Professional Standards Bureau is responsible for CALEA accreditation, training, recruitment and selection and court services.
Investigative Services is organized into two operational bureaus. The Investigative Bureau is responsible for Criminal Investigations, Intelligence, and the Property Room. The Special Operations Bureau provides a cross functional team designed to focus on narcotics, vice, theft and other current crime trends supporting Field Services and Investigative bureaus.
Communications is the first point of contact for most citizens. It receives 9-1-1 calls, general calls for service and dispatches police, fire and EMS services, as well as manages our records to include public records request.
