This really is one of my favorite places in the world. Guitars, Amps, Recording Equipment, Accessories. Pretty much anything that you need. If they don't have it in the store they'll get it for you, even ship it to you. I love to go there and play with all the really nice guitars, try out a few new pedals, or an amp. Better still, all of the above at once. Gotta love a place where you can try out all the toys. Great place, friendly staff. 5 Stars.

Generally have a good time going here but a few days ago my boyfriend tried to return some speakers he had bought from there, untouched, still in the box with the receipt and proof of insurance plan that the employee at the time of purchase told him would guarantee him the ability to return/refund/or exchange if damaged for the next three years. Well, we decided to upgrade so away we went to exchange them and when trying to do so, the employee helping my boyfriend during this encounter, scanned the receipt then turned to my dude and flatly said, "Oh, it's not letting me do it." Wait, what? Who's not letting you do it? The computer? The speakers? The receipt? Then asked if he wanted store credit. No, thank you, I would not like store credit considering I paid that additional fee specifically so this wouldn't happen. So he asked for a manager, who once again asked my boyfriend if he would like store credit after he shared the current issue. Thankfully, the manager was able to refund him the price of the speakers but not the price of the insurance which he was late by 2 days, which I won't fuss about because policy is policy. Also, I won't explain in detail each situation different employees on different occasions have treated us unjustly and clearly side eyed us because it may not appear as if we "have a lot of money" since I try to move on and block out each of those encounters, but let me tell you one thing; we don't even walk into that store unless we have money to spend, so maybe everyone should sit on that for a minute before they want to judge a book by it's cover. So all and all, it's a great store with great products, it just seems as though some of the employees might need a little refresher on how to properly and professionally deal with customers.

Bought a used acoustic based on the Guitar Center website listing. The guitar came from the Seattle store. It was listed as in "Excellent" condition, meaning it showed little sign of use. I called before ordering. I will not go into details about the phone call except that the salesperson's incompetence was very annoying. And then they hung up on me without even the courtesy of a good bye immediately after the transaction went through. I received the guitar and it was in "Good" condition at best. It had dents and scratches all over the body, the head stock was chipped and dented in multiple spots, the strings were very rusty, the tuners needed tightening, the bridge looks like it's separating from the body, and the fretboard was so dirty that my finger was black when I ran my finger on it. It's obvious that the previous owner did not take care of this guitar at all. I can't believe this instrument was listed as "Excellent" when at best it was in "Good" condition. I bought it because it was 30% off the price of the new version but I feel cheated. I suspect that the Seattle store just wanted to dump an old guitar that was hanging around as quickly as possible. I now know that Guitar Center LIES about the condition of their used instruments. Who knows what else they lie about? Their saving grace is the 45 day return policy.

I'm not super into guitars and drums (I was there with a guitarist friend), but if I was I would have been in heaven! Huge selection of new and used electric and acoustic guitars, sound equipment, drums, keyboards, and accessories. Staff was super helpful and friendly and really knew what they were doing. And if you wanted to test our a guitar or a drum set, you could just plug it into an amp or pick up some sticks and go to town! Great experience overall.
