We are local residents and enjoy going out to Gus's. Tonight we had an exceptionally good time out, With 2 small kids it's tough to eat out anywhere. We were seated quickly drinks were on the table within minutes, orders taken when we were ready, bread delivered the very next time we saw the server. Then not 7 minutes after placing our order, the food was on the table. Delicious, great price, great night out. The service was, again, terrific, not only the waiter but the hostess and the manager also came to the table during the meal to check on things. Thanks Gus's!

Love this place! Staff very welcoming and friendly, but not overbearing. Home cooked meals , fresh bakery items! Great coffee! Prices very reasonable! Highly recommend!

I Was recently at this restaurant and ordered a ribeye steak. I asked if they could cook it medium waitress said yes I also asked for sautéed mushrooms on top. The steak came out and was well done so I asked the waitress if she put it in as medium she said yes. I told her it was well done and she said oh sorry hesitated then reluctantly asked if I wanted her to take it back. I said yes I ordered it medium. Steak came back was a little better more like medium well and the sautéed mushrooms were gone and steak was really fatty. So I asked where are my mushrooms and waitress said do you want me to have them make you more and I said yes it's what I ordered to begin with. So five minutes later mushrooms come out. Needless to say I will never order a steak here again even if I even decide to give it another chance. Waitress didn't seem to care. No discount on meal either.

This had been my go-to place for breakfast and lunch but since Gus took it over I go there much less. The day time assistant manager (Gus' son-in-law) is simply obnoxious. He insists that parties wait until all are present before seating them (as a result my high school classmates who meet for breakfast once a month) asked if we could go someplace else. Recently they switched from home fried potatoes to hash browns then after the outroar switched back (why can they offer both like most restaurants?). The food is still pretty good but an unhappy staff makes for some inconsistent and sometimes poor service. I would never eat here again except that there are so few places to get a decent meal in northern Lancaster County.

Decent food, decent prices, atmosphere is lacking. We go about twice a month and the food is usually good, a few times it has been really salty or the flavor was off, especially with fish, but most of the items on the menu are very good. Service is also hit or miss, we go sometimes and they are there for a refill or anything else you may need almost more then necessary, other times they are non existent to the point where you think they forgot about you.
