I've been going to this shop for a little over 3 years now and up until my last visit was very satisfied. Every four weeks I would go in get my cut and shampoo from Kyla and things were good. On my last visit however the lady at the front desk was told that Kyla no longer worked there, but she would be happy to give me my normal cut and shampoo. I didn't catch her name, but she had red hair and reeked of stale cigarette smoke as I discovered at the shampoo bowl. She asked what I normally had done and I told her a number 7 on the top, number 4 on the sides and then blended in. She insisted rather strongly that she could make it look better job with just using just her fingers and scissors on the top, so I gave in and let her (huge mistake). As she was doing her thing with the scissors, which took way longer than my normal cut, she was shilling me products. Telling me that basically I was an idiot if I wasn't using whatever brand of shampoo, conditioner and gel they sold there. I almost wonder if that was her motive for insisting on the scissor cut. When I left the shop I was just irritated with her pushy sales tactics, I didn't realize until the next morning when I was getting ready how patchy and uneven my hair was on the top. It looked like a kindergartener had gone wild with a dull pair of scissors to my scalp! Needless to say I will never go back here again!

Extremely disappointed with my experience here. I always make appointments because my time is very tight. Had an appointment with a stylist I had been to before, show up and they tell me she’s not there. Lady looks me in the eye and says “I’m so sorry, I called almost all of her appointments to tell them.” ... ALMOST all of them... are you kidding me? She hands me a $5 off $20 coupon. My haircut doesn’t even cost $20 so it’s a useless attempt at easing the issue. What a blatant disrespect for my time that no one cares enough to call to tell me the stylist is out. So I make another appointment a week later, I show up today and they tell me she isn’t there. I was furious when this happened the first time, to happen again is unimaginable. Once again the stylist calls out of work and NO ONE has the decency to call and let me know. I don’t understand how they don’t have an iron clad process for calling appointments when a stylist is out. Im easy going, a very simple haircut and a good tipper. What does it take to get some respect for my time!? This place is clearly very poorly run. Owner and management should be ashamed. Once... ok things happen. Twice... get it together!

Hello everyone this is my opinion based on my last visit to this salon. You may have a different opinion; I did as well, but based on my last few visits it changed. I have been going to this salon for years and use to get my Keratin and all other work done by Sookie and before sookie was Dede and never had any problems. I used Amanda a couple of times after Sookie left and same thing no problems. This is how long I have been going here. I started using Lucy and was happy until I did my first Keratin with her. It didn't come out the same when the others did it, but I still decided to go back and get it done again because this is where I have always gone to get my hair done. Now this time its worst so I went back for her to see it and she said to schedule an appointment so she can fix it, which I did. However when it finished I was giving a price more than I paid to have it done before. I thought I will probably pay half or get a big discount, but the manager said the price went up; it uses to start from 149.00 now its 199.00 so I paid and left. I had to go back again because of the same issues. At this time I ask to sit with the stylist and the manager to see what really causing the keratin not to work and causing me to spend hundreds of dollars and still ending up in the same place each time. They told me it's a new product they are using and that is why I am having this problem. I wish someone had told me this before I spend hundreds of dollars and keep complaining that's not working. However I didn't think it was the product because I can see from the way the product was being applied that it's not enough for my hair, my hair is very thick. I kept telling the stylist, but she said the manager told them that they're using too much products so she can't use any more. However the manager told the stylist to redo my hair, but the stylist acted like she didn't want to. However I was ask to schedule an appointment to get it redo so I did. While getting it done the stylist is telling me how formaldehyde causes cancer, but went even further as to tell me if this time the keratin doesn't work to go to this place on International DR where some Brazilian use products with more formaldehyde . She just told me it causes cancer. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Throughout the process she kept trying to discourage me from coming back to this salon. I can also see that the manager was behind it as well because when I returned to get my hair fix the manager was right up front at the counter and didn't even acknowledged me, but was okay to keep taking my money all the other times and even over charging me. The other managers before her were very friendly, but this manager walks around and don't even acknowledge you. Also while my hair was getting redo there were some employees that were acting like that was the first time keratin was being done in that salon. They kept waking by looking at me all weird and covering their noses and sometimes staying in the back of the salon. I felt so humiliated and embarrassed. I have had my keratin done at other salon before the opening of this salon and never had such experience. I don’t believe that this was the fault of the stylist but of a manager trying to cut corners and possibly making budget, but I can be wrong.

I love this salon! Kyla is amazing, she is the only one that I allow to do my hair and my daughters hair. It’s really hard to find a good hairdresser these days, but Kyla definitely has two lifetime customers for sure now! All of the hairstylists that work at this Hair Cuttery are great! If Kyla is too booked up and you aren’t able to wait, make sure you see Jonathan, he is amazing as well!
