I have always had a great experience with the hair department of HP college. When I was in high school, I got my hair (and makeup) done there for prom, and just recently for a wedding. Unlike the hair department, which is at a different building in Palos Hills, today was actually my first experience with the spa/makeup department (the other building). I had made my appointment a week or two in advance, and was told the day of the appointment that no one was there to do my makeup. So, I don't understand why they make appointments if you can't promise that your students will be there...Anyway, I highly suggest the hair department (5 stars separately). If you make an appointment for makeup, you may show up and no one be there to do it.

Came to hair professionals for an all over color and they did an amazing job! I am very pleased with the end result, the color was just what I wanted! The staff was super friendly and it was just an overall great experience. I would definitely recommend going here for any hair services!

I had a great experience, very relaxing. Ebony was polite, very friendly, professional, and  attentive throughout my time there, and informative about colors that would work with my natural hair color. My blowdry was beautiful, bouncy, lasting overnight ! The staff was friendly and I was very pleased with my overall experience !!  I wish Ebony every success in the future. The customer service I would recommend. A divine experience and will be visiting again!!

My mom is a student there, and I sometimes go get my trims done by her. I love coming there and her teachers are very nice, and she met lots of good friends there. She will be done soon and I wish her the best in this career ;)

I came to HP once and had a so so experience..thought I’d give it another try.
Now,  I know to never make that mistake again!

The students are on their own... they really don’t have anyone over seeing their work, unless they actively SEARCH for an instructor.

Carly was the “instructor” but she did VERY LITTLE “instructing” and had an awful attitude when asked for assistance!
I was really SHOCKED to witness this and felt so sorry for the students😫
The instructor seemed to have a huge ego and was blatantly RUDE and disrespectful  to the students and to me... the client!!!!!! 

Completly unacceptable behavior!!

I should have walked out immediately!!!
Maybe someone needs to explain her role to her??   Isn’t she there to teach these young girls??  I’ve never found intimidation to be a worthy teaching method, but it seems this is Carly’s method.   
Truly inexcusable to treat the students and clients in this manner!

My student was nice but clearly nervous and unsure of cutting hair!!
Carly was nowhere to be found and it wasn’t a busy day!!!
Carly knew the student was struggling, but she didn’t bother to “teach” ... instead she left her alone!!   HORRIBLE for the students!!!
HORRIBLE for the client!!!

Other schools have instructors on the floor, actually “teaching” and are assisting students!
Other schools are less expensive and you will leave MUCH HAPPIER,  guaranteed!!!!!
 If you’ve never been to HP... you’re lucky.
If you’re thinking of going... do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!
There are plenty of schools in the area..
Cameo(Oak Lawn) Capri(Oak Forrest) or Mario Tricoci(Bridgeview) ... you will save yourself $$ and a whole lot of FRUSTRATION🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
