Coming from out of town and unfamiliar with the city, I needed to find the right apartment in just a short, three-day trip.  I was lucky to connect with Leanne Stella, who couldn't have given me better or more thorough help.  She was quick to understand what I was looking for.  She had a range of places (both in terms of price and location) lined up for me to see and was good at putting each place we saw into a bigger picture, giving me a handle on what I was looking at.  As a result, I felt that even in a short time I got a comprehensive look at possible places and was able to narrow my search confidently to a few really good choices.  When it came to actually renting one of them (not a simple matter), Leanne was knowledgeable about the process and attentive to details on my behalf.  She anticipated and prevented problems.  From start to finish, she was looking out for me and was both tireless and effective.

After relocating from NJ to NY and subletting in Harlem for about year I fell in love with the neighborhood. When my sublet term was over the last thing I wanted to do was move away from the area. I was desperate to find a nice apartment there that I could afford. To that end I worked with the wonderful Leanne Stella. She tirelessly looked and showed me several apartments throughout Harlem until we found the right fit for me. She was patient, always on time for our appointments, and gave me the full scoop about the places I was interested in. She was proactive and encouraging even when I felt less enthusiastic about the prospect of finding something. She knows the neighborhood like the back of her hands and was able to give me pointers about things like shopping, restaurants, and overall quality of the areas I was looking at. I'm happy to say that I now live in a place that's just right for me and which I plan to stay in for the foreseeable future, all thanks to Leanne!

Recently purchased a property where Michael Coker was the seller's broker.  He was unresponsive, made unusual demands like reviewing our application (complete with financial history, references, social security number) despite the application's instructions to send directly to the management company (he actually even sent us an incomplete application which delayed our closing), and was inconsistent with his version of the current state of play throughout the process.  He actually ignored calls from our broker and attorney so that they needed to use other phones to reach him during the final 2 weeks so that he would answer.  When escalated to his management, there was no improvement in service. I would strongly recommend avoiding Michael and Halstead Property based on this experience and my attorney's description of 'the most incompetent experience in over 40 years in New York real-estate'

I encountered a rude realtor who hung up on me after I requested, for the 5th time, to be removed from his mailing list, which I never requested to be added to.  However I contacted the managing agent, who did say she would talk to him (not sure if she did or not).  But I was most importantly removed from the list.
