Great pork! Wow, was that good. Not a fancy place by any means (no wait staff) but good food. Closed Sundays.

First time visit was great! I am visiting friends in Portland and this restaurant was randomly picked. Glad we found it! The food was delicious, everyone enjoyed it. Went back a day later for more coconut rice pudding.

I've been here multiple times and each time I leave disappointed with the quality of the food. The mac salad, a signature for any good Hawaiian spot, is bland and lacks any flavor which is the theme for just about everything on their menu. Kalbi short ribs are bland as well and are not cooked on a grill so it doesn't have the lightly charred flavor. The price is decent, but there are much better options. Roxys is about the same price, you portions are slightly smaller but the quality is immensely better. Hawaiian time offers slightly better quality and more quantity for the same price as well. The king of all Hawaiian places would probably still be bamboo grove. Hapa grill needs to step up their quality.

I have to revise my previous 3-star review, because I've come back several times since and had great experiences. Food is even better these days than it used to be. (The curry is especially good!) Decor is nicer. They've made the inside look much nicer. Service was great. It's a real casual place. Not formal at all. Order at the counter and pick up at the counter. But really great food, good service, food comes out promptly, always clean, and haven't heard any rap music at all lately. Just easy listening music softly in the background. I enjoy this place much more now, with these changes. So I've changed to a five-star review now! Well done, guys! Previous 3-star review 2 years ago: Food is above average. Decor is okay. I'd rate them higher if I wasn't sitting here being forced to listen to annoying rap music while eating. Annoying as all hell.

White meat chicken teriyaki plate is awesome! Tasty mac salad, overall good experience.
