Hard Rock Cafe Chicago located at 63 W Ontario St, Chicago, IL 60654 is a fantastic Hard Rock!! Clean, friendly employees and management really cares about the quality of the customer’s experience. I got their cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly, the Onion rings delicious, and the heated up! BBQ sauce that comes with the Onion Rings is a taste treat. The memorabilia on the walls is awesome, from Guitars used by various Superstars to other items from Bands. Really cool layout of memories. Quite varied menu, but not so large to intimidate or that they can’t make the food freshly. The merchandise store was also great. My server Quan and Manager Emily were tremendous. I’d come here daily during my 3 day Chicago stay, but I want to try a few other places too. This one can be said to be a “tourist trap”, but go ahead and trap me - well taken!!! Oh / and upstairs in the corner there aren’t speakers, so the volume is not loud for those who want to easily talk and not be at normal Rock level. A calm 80 decibel max. The place ROCKS!!
I was in Hard Rock with my sister, mom and daughter on 12/2. We had some time to kill before we caught the 530 train and the lighted guitar caught our eye. Honestly, we should have known that something was up, because every other place along Clark was packed which is why we had kept walking. There were 2 tables, and 6 people at the bar. We were seated in a very worn out booth, and asked to be switched to a table because we were all uncomfortable seated in sagging booth seats. We moved to a table and were much more comfortable. Our server was very soft spoken and sweet. We decided to just order appetizers. We ultimately decided to go with the Bangkok Shrimp, Nachos with Steak, beans on the side and boneless wings for my daughter. The nachos were dismal and that is putting it delicately. There was barely any cheese on the entire platter, diced tomatoes, huge pieces of pickled onions and maybe some scallions. The "ranch" beans we asked for on the side literally looked like baked beans. The $7.00 upcharge for steak was a joke. Whatever piece of meat they added to the dish looked like it had just been dumped in a pile and was cold. The shrimp looked good, although oddly plated on top of a both of lukewarm coleslaw, but had little to no flavor. We did run them through the excess sauce of the wings and it helped a little. My daughter enjoyed the spicy/sweet wings, she is 13. My sister had one beer and the rest of us had soda. The bill was $85.00. A manager did stop by the table and ask how everything was, my sister replied with "Since you asked, it was not good" and went into detail. We got the regular, what can I do to make it right etc. Our first suggestion would be to serve appetizers that are appetizing. There is absolutely no way I would ever go back to this location, let alone order an entree when the appetizers are terrible. Not sure what is going on here, but the staff looks disheveled, the food is depressing and the ambiance is lacking. This place should be packed on a Saturday, even before dinner time. It isn't. And that should tell you something.
Food WAS good, but the portion size didn't justify the prices. I get it's a "tourist trap", but still. $80 before tip just for appitizee, a cheaper entree, a drink and a shot. Waitress was awesome, but I think the novelty and high prices are driving people off, it was DEAD at 6pm.Food: 5/5
The entire experience was great! The service outstanding, the food delicious, and the atmosphere was great!. I love all the memorabilia, guitars, pics, and music. Our server was super friendly, and the manager came by, and we spoke about music, bands, and some of our favorite musicians. He gave me a great tip on a band that I must listen to! This place is perfect for the entire family. We will continue to visit Hard Rock in as many cities as possible.
My girlfriend & I had a blast at the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago. The waitress/server was awesome and very helpful. Are meals were hot and fresh. Very delicious. I definitely recommend the surf and turf Burger.Food: 5/5
Cannot fault my time here at Hard Rock Chicago. The entire experience was amazing, from the staff, to the food, and the atmosphere. We visited on a Tuesday evening, where it was rather quiet. Staff seated us immediately, and were kind and polite throughout. Food was served quickly, and was piping hot and fresh. It was honestly delicious! Our food and drinks total came out to ~$350, but this was between 8 of us, including the pint glasses and tip. ~$50 each was very reasonable, considering the service, food, and experience. I've visited a few Hard Rock cafés in a few countries, and my visit to the Chicago branch has to have been my favourite so far!
Easy to find. Parking available, the staff is very friendly. Good options in the clothing store. Live music is availble during weekdays. Several options of food to try. Good cocktails as well. Several tables. Amazing decor with facts and info about musicians and bands. Good option to have lunch or dinner.Service: 5/5
Needed a place to grab a bite after reservations to resturants on the river fell through. We walked in and were seated very quickly. Our waiter was great- very friendly and on top of things. The food was good, we had the steak and cheeseburger with a side salad. All tasted really good and we devoured them. We had a few drinks- the hurricane, tropical margarita, and some electric blues. The hurricane was just ok, a little strong and the tropical margarita was overwhelmingly coconut flavored but the electric blues' tasted awesome! I would really recommend one of those. I liked the live music going on after we came in and was happy that it was audible but not so overwhelmingly loud that you could t have a conversation. My only quibble was it took quite a while to get our food but it was a bit busy at the time so I can understand. Our total came out to 137 which isn't horrible considering we ordered 4 alcoholic drinks, a steak, a salad, and a burger, and we're in Chicago. The dining room was pretty cool too- lots of music memorabilia to look at! All in all it was a pretty good experience and we had a great dinner.
Last time visiting here was 2007. Stopped in twice this past week for lunch. Food and service excellent. Both times we had Nicolette as our waitress. The service she provided us , the recommendations on the menu , to the conversations really made our visit the best.Thank you Nicolette and hard rock.Food: 5/5
