Lots of dogs, people and horses today.  The park has miles of trails, at least 6 mining ruins, a seasonal Creek and lots of wild flowers in the spring.  Parking and trails are free and maps are available from the Empire Mine visitor center.  The pictures show what is left of the hand rivited 22 inch diameter water pipe that was built in the 1880s to take  water from the reservoir below the club house at the Empire Mine to the North Star Mine.  The water was used to power both mines replacing steam engines.

My dog loves walking here. The trails are very well kept and sometimes we get to see horses!
