First of all the people that work at harmony are the nicest people ever. I Had special ordered this cake for a Super Bowl/Valentines Party and it was truly amazing. Everyone was kept talking about how delicious, flavorful, and moist it was. Thank you all so much for this amazing Cake. It was truly a hit
This place is soooo cute. The biggest portions of the most delicious looking treats fill a little case that greets you as you walk in the door. There's a little line but the wait is not bad. To the right is a fridge with delicious looking cream soups and potato salads. It's all gluten free and vegan. I asked for a suggestion and the Samoa bar was pointed out. It was delicious! The bottom was a little overdone on the edge I got an edge piece. But the flavor and texture was that of a gluten filled, buttery treat. I am in love and can look past the edge. I am definitely returning! Dietary restrictions: Everything gluten free and dairy free.
Rating is purely based on the food, as someone who doesn't typically buy gluten-free products. I went with a girlfriend who is both vegan and gluten-free to try this place, as she remembered enjoying it and I've never been, and thought it was a cute, if not slightly cramped, little establishment. The walls are lined with art and there were staff all about the kitchen, baking and cleaning and busying themselves with activity. I can only assume there are regular, loyal customers at Harmony Bakery, since many people came in and chatted with staff and, I believe, the owner, greeting each on a first-name basis. In terms of food, I ordered the Samoa Bar and the Cinnamon Bun. Each was gluten-free and only the Cinnamon Bun was heated up the Samoa Bar would have melted. They look delicious and I did enjoy the flavors of both but, despite the Cinnamon Bun being heated, I found them to be lacking a crucial soft, "gooey" punch. The Cinnamon Bun was still hard and, when I tried to slice into it, it broke apart or crumbled. Again, it tasted good, but it lacked in gooeyness. The Samoa Bar was also tasty but, similarly, lacked the softer texture expected from pastries like these. I would still recommend trying the place out, especially if you're vegan/gluten-free and enjoy small bakeries where you'll likely see regular customers and staff. They seem to enjoy what they do and they make their pastries with joy. Personally, however, I still prefer pastries with gluten, but I would recommend eating your purchases immediately if you'd like to give Harmony Bakery and Cafe a try. What I ordered was a bit too hard, to my taste, for what a Cinnamon Bun or chocolate/coconut bar classically would be. Again, this was my experience and I would still recommend trying the place out for yourself. 3/5 stars from me.
All their food is exceptional! MUST TRY their Earl grey cupcakes with strawberry icing can special order ahead of time if they don’t have them out. The strawberry icing illuminates the flavors of the cupcake all the more. Their customer service is great also as they are very personable. You can ask them to heat anything up for you that they have out fresh. A God-send for those with allergies, sensitivities, and health concerns. Dietary restrictions: Vegan and Free of gluten, soy, dairy. A couple items contain soy but are clearly labeled.
This place is top-notch. Everything I ordered was easily some of the best food I've had since moving to the city. I ordered a 6' cake for a friends birthday, and they were able to get it done in such short notice. The cake was moist and quite dense but amazingly flavorful all the way through. The entire party was surprised when I told them it was vegan and gluten free. When I stopped by to pick up the cake, I got myself some lunch. I ordered the carrot lox and cream cheese on an everything bagel. The bagel was certainly fresh and homemade. It tasted almost like a sourdough. The cashew cream cheese was creamy and rich. I would have loved the portions to be a little larger and have the "cream cheese" be a slightly thicker, but that's just me. I also got a Samoa Bar, which was no doubt one of the best desserts I've ever had in my life. The texture of the chocolate and the coconut flavor was unbeatable. The Golden Milk was great as well; if you order it, make sure to mix it a little before drinking. I was unfortunately in a rush so I couldn't enjoy as much as I wanted. I will be back -- with everyone I know ;
Great customer service! Awesome food! Cool location! ....but the outdoor seating in November is a no go. We tried the quiche and the Samoa. So, incredibly delicious and filling. Can't wait to sample other menu items. Update: coconut cake is fluffy with crisp ends, perfect with coffee! The Browne has great chocolate content and just the right amount of walnuts. It's far too sweet though.
A hidden VEGAN gem in Maryland. Worth the drive into Baltimore! Their vegan pizza with cashew cheese was delicious and the perfect size for one. We also tried their mint chocolate cookie you won’t believe it’s all vegan it’s just so so good. Even their quinoa burger and avocado sauces are just delicious. Highly recommend and will be returning soon!
Love their food! Everything is gluten free and vegan. Their homemade vegan cheeses are the best and I love how easy it is to online order and pick up. When I had a question about ingredients sugar they stopped what they were doing to help me everyone was busy prepping ingredients and answer my complicated question sorry and I really appreciated it and was able to get some more goodies, that I had initially thought I couldn’t have! Love this place, even my fiancé who is not vegan and gluten free loves their food also.
I visited this bakery for the first time today and enjoyed my experience from beginning to end. I tried the mock crab cake made with heart of palm and it was so tasty and had the perfect texture. I also got an iced coffee with almond milk which is exactly what I needed to start my day. I spent under $10 which I think is a fair price for my order. Thank you, I’ll be back!
This bakery FAR surpassed my expectations. I eat gluten and am not vegan, and yet, I would say that this bakery is better than most of its non-vegan gluten-full counterparts. The bagel was a bit coconut-y, but the everything seasoning more than made up for it AND it held together very well. The cheddar cornbread was delicious - the texture was nice and soft and the level of sweetness and saltiness was perfect. To be honest, I could not taste the cheddar much, though it was definitely there upon visual inspection. The morning glory muffins were also delicious, but they are definitely on the heavier side. The flavor is great and the texture is nice, but a little oily and definitely not a light breakfast by any means! And lastly, my hands down favorite was the samoa bar with chocolate and coconut. What a beautiful dessert! It is not trying to be healthy - it is sweet, chewy, full of chocolate, dates, and coconut, with a little salt. A wonderful accompaniment to black coffee, which I must say, did not disappoint!
