FUNDRAISING
The Hartford Police Department established our K-9 Program through funding from our Quad Graphics and other local businesses, donations from local civic organizations, through coin drop boxes in local gas stations, and through countless individuals who generously gave to make it a reality.
Our program is unique not only because of the sheer number of community members that came together to support the initiative, but also because we were able to completely cover our program’s start-up costs for the dog, the training, the specialized equipment, and to purchase the special purpose vehicle for the program at a total cost of $0 to Hartford Taxpayers!
If you would like to partner with us to help offset our ongoing operational expenses for the K-9 Program you can make a tax deductible contribution by sending a check payable to; The City of Hartford. Make sure to add in the memo line of the check or money order “Police K-9.”
You can send your checks to;
Hartford Police Department
Police K-9 Program
110 N. Johnson St.
Hartford, WI 53027
You will receive a thank you letter that will serve as a receipt for your donation that you can use for tax purposes. Thank You for supporting this important program!
Since canines joined law enforcement’s ranks in 1907 they have consistently proven their worth. These K-9 officers help to deter criminal activity, help in the detection of illegal drugs and help support a variety of functions in the day to day operations of the department. The H.P.D. K-9 Unit is also an important part of our community outreach efforts in our local schools, businesses, and our community.
