Welcome to Healthcare Associates of McKinney where we offer care for the whole family from ages 3 and up. Our team is here to help you be as healthy as possible in an environment that fosters trust, compassion and comfort. Because we are Family Medicine Physicians, we can handle a broad range of needs in our McKinney office ranging from treating an aching back and skin conditions or the flu to managing cholesterol levels and diabetes. We also perform outpatient minor surgeries for dermatologic conditions and joint injections for select orthopedic complaints. We can provide well visits, sick visits, school physicals, and vaccinations. We offer on-site x-ray, lab and allergy testing services. When you are well, we strive to keep you that way by focusing on preventive health issues such as cancer screenings, diabetes screenings, immunizations, nutrition, and by finding ways to empower you through health education.

Conveniently located on the border of Frisco and McKinney, near Craig Ranch, our office is open from 8am to 5pm. The office stays open during lunch. We are pleased to offer same-day appointments, when available.

We accept all major insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Baylor, Scott & White Quality Alliance, Cigna, Humana, Medicare, Secure Horizons, and United Healthcare.

I love this office from the front staff to the doctors. I see the P.A Lauren D and Dr.Sarver, they are great. I have been going to this doctors office for quite sometime, roughly 3 to 4 years and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new doctor to go to, they have the best of the best. I am always taken care of and there is never an issue with any of my prescriptions being filled or problems with them calling the pharmacy if they are calling in my prescriptions. Sheryln, I must say is one of the nicest people in that office and she will take great care of you and your needs in a sweet timely manner. I highly recommend you speak with her if you want someone to make your day!! She makes the office run smoothly, but when you are there remember, everyone else is there with an appointment just like you, just think, there are more patients than doctors and they do their very best to get to you at your scheduled appointment time. Just like any other place, you do have to wait your turn. I advise you show up early to do ANY NEW paperwork the office might need. A++++++++

This was a rough experience from the beginning. First off, when I called to make a new patient appointment I was put on hold 3-4 times. This was irritating but nothing too bad. I was asked to show up 30 minutes before my appointment which I did, and somehow wasn't called back to the room until 20 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. Then I spoke VERY briefly with the med assistant. She left and I waited around 1 HOUR in the patient room before the doctor was actually able to come in. Then I had a patient-doctor face time of about 5-7 minutes in which I added some forgotten medical history information and a pap smear for my annual. So VERY little was even discussed between myself and the doctor that I was hoping would be my new GP in McKinney. I then was told to change back into my clothes to be taken to the lab tech. So I waited yet again about 20 minutes. I then was beyond irritated and walked out to ask the front desk lady where I needed to be to get my blood taken. As I did so, the medical assistant rounded the corner and apologized for taking so long. But at this point I was too irritated with how long of a visit this was to care. The lab tech was great and did her job in a very timely manner, which I appreciated. To summarize, I was at this office for 2 hours for an annual visit. I have never experienced a doctors visit where I sat in the patient room waiting to see the doctor for 1 hour in all the years that I have gotten an annual. The employees were polite but the wait time was so absurd that I couldn't really get past that. My husband needs to go for an annual as well but I will research for somewhere else as this was not a timely visit. I'm aware that doctors are busy and I appreciate all the help they provide patients. But the wait time was ridiculous. I had a job to get back to as well and this appointment made me feel that my time wasn't important to them. Out of the 2 hours I was there I maybe spoke with a medical professional for a total of 15 mins. I was very unimpressed and will not be recommending this practice to others and will not be returning again for my next annual. I almost got up and left before the doctor even came in to see me, that's how bad of a wait time this was. I also know that patient to doctor face time is limited these days but 5-7 minutes is not enough to properly evaluate patients. Especially not new patients. I hope that others were treated more respectfully than I was.

Dr. Candelario, his medical assistant, and the gals at the front desk took GREAT care of me. Had a couple of moles removed and tested, and as one was on a place on my back I physically couldn't reach they let me come in every day to change the bandages for me. I know that's not normal service, and a scheduling nightmare in some cases as I never had an appointment, but they were always so nice about it, and always took care of me.

I have been waiting over an hour and half past my scheduled appointment. Still haven't seen my physician. This is ridiculous.

I'm a critical care RN and paramedic with ER, fight, and ICU experience. I've been in critical care medicine for almost 26 years and most of those in a teaching facility. I have high standards for health care and have nothing but positive experiences there. I see Lauren Dethlefs and in the post would have never seen a mid level provider but she is sharp, pleasant, and personable but I require more than that from a health care provider. I require expertise and have only had that experience with this group. I've also had only positive experiences with the office staff so I'm unsure where our why the negative reviews have come but want to share mine to counter those negative reviews.
