If you live on the west coast but want to be a national driver, don't bother with Heartland Express. I've been trying to work with them for over a year, but the furthest east they'll send you is around the I-25 corridor, maybe to Amarillo if you're lucky. Honestly they aren't very good for western region either. Far too often get loads of only 240-350 miles, and have a day and a half to deliver for a live unload. This is why trucking companies shouldn't be publicly owned. They are all about highest profit for the stockholders at the expense of driver needs based on some spreadsheets an idiot with an MBA came up with. They'd make bigger profits running it like a real trucking company.
