WASTED MONEY and got WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I shouldn't be even giving a single star to this institute. However, I'm giving that star to the instructors over there who work under the worst owner of an institute. As the other people said here, the owner of this institute doesn't even know what the customer service or satisfaction is. He is treating his customers like a crap. Don't even go there. Let me tell my experience, I went there to get my BLS renewal certificate. Though I had the textbook from the BLS class I took there before, they made me to buy a new book, which is exactly the same as the book I had before. When I questioned about why should I buy the new book, his explanation was he doesn't have time to explain about it; either you buy the book and step inside or leave the place. Excuse me, what kind of customer service is that..!!!! Not just that, because I questioned him about the need of buying the new book, he turned down on me and failed me the class and asked me to take it again on an another time by paying the full amount again. This is how he treats his customers. Because I didn't want to make a scene, I left the place. However, my son was pissed about it. He is the one who encouraged me to write this review for the people thinking about going there. If you wanna get the worst customer service from the owner of this institute itself, go there. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

WHY DO I KEEP GOING BACK??? The positive: I grew up in Valley Stream so I know how to get there. It is also close to my current home and they offer several courses a week. The negative: The owner George. Period. He is extremely rude and unprofessional. I have renewed both my BLS and ACLS certifications there and have had a problem each and every time with him. As Monika said in a previous review, he will charge you $15 for a book each time you go, even if you already have a current one. However, the bigger problem is that he interrupts every class and takes over the teaching. I understand that he needs to audit certain classes for new instructors. However, that does not give him the right to put down other professionals in front of a classroom full of people. He also does this with classes that are being taught by instructors who have, by their own account, worked at his company for several years. He gets upset with students who can't answer his questions, yet, he is not specific in what he is asking. When I tried to point this out to him, he became very defensive and said I was the one "confusing myself." I was confused- yet I passed the exam with flying colors. Hmmm. At another point in the conversation, he tried to turn it into a race issue by stating, "Sorry, I just came to this country two years ago." I wasn't confused by his accent- and being a culturally competent nurse who has worked at several different hospitals with people of all races, all genders and from all walks of life, I found this to be extremely offensive. This man even had the nerve to offend me two years ago when I was pregnant! Anyone even thinking about giving this man your hard-earned money should reconsider. I have already started researching other places to renew my ACLS this summer!

Wow, I was explained all the policies up front, no problems. I don't understand if YOU schedule your own class, then why would you have to be refunded? They have a no refund policy. What's so hard to understand, They hold classes 7 days a week, there IS ALWAYS A DATE/DAY available (except legal services) My experience was great, they offered me a bundle package which saved me money, I spoke with the administrator who made if easy, and worked with my schedule. Sorry Seth, maybe it was you and NOT the staff at HeartStart Training. If I would have listened to these reviews I would not have gone to HeartStart Training. Saved me money and time. Best combo in the world, the added plus the staff.

We had a totally opposite experience from the other reviews... our Company has been very impressed with the prompt and courteous customer service given at this HeartStart location. Thank you for the great service and for helping to coordinate the class for our newly arrived International Nurse. Your assistance in helping her along with the process made a great first impression!

Do not use them. They have a ton of rules about how you will not get your money back and they game their system so that they have the upper hand. For example, you have to call if you cannot make it, and they say you have to make an effort to leave a message. BUT they turn their fax system on so you cannot leave a message. Bang - you did not follow the rules AND they keep your money. No response from the email address. There are many other vendors for this training. Don't go with this shady lot.
