Drs. David and Melanie Hecker are skilled in current laser treatments for eliminating wrinkles, tattoos, brown spots, and spider veins. Hecker Dermatology also offers cosmetic dermatology for fillers, Botox, lip injections and chemical peels to enhance skin rejuvenation. Had infection on my arm, when to Dr David Hecker because my dermatologist was on vacation, told me that it needed to be cut open and stitched and just wait and see what happens, told the doctor that it hurts and I was going away on vacation in a few days, he basically ignored the reason that I came to his office for. The infection got real bad while in DC, called his office and asked to make appointment with the doctor as soon as I return to Florida. The receptionist told me to come in Friday morning at 9:40a said that would be great my flight arrives Thursday night. When to the doctors office that Friday , GUESS what the office was CLOSED. Called the Doctors office got a real clueless receptionist was told that the doctors were at a medical convention and they have a PA covering his office in Pompano office. When I made this appointment no one said the doctor would be away nor that I would have to drive to the Pompano office. BAD BAD BAD, never again. If your thinking of going to this Dermatology office think again and by the way his office is not CLEAN!!!!

Not a Doctor i would EVER RECOMMEND. a Good/BAD staff is a reflection of the physician.... My wife suffers from hair loss. She went to see Hecker and they kept pushing their pharmaceutical product on her. There's an obvious language barrier so i took preventive measures to filll out the forms for her before she got to the office to ensure that they would target the problem in question. I requested the the forms the day prior... I didn't receive them via email as promised. I called the day of her appointment and finally got them. According to APRIL, her "email got backed up." Wait there's more.... Once she got there, they instructed her to fill them out again. I called and they apologized and "found the forms" i filled out. My wife told them that she haven't had blood work done in 4 years... a good Physician would request new blood work. Did Dr. Hecker request them? No... Total waste of my time and hers on an extremely great co-pay... Kudos to my insurance for the affordable care, but this physician and practice should not be in my network. I ASSURE YOU THAT ALL OF THESE COMMENTS AND REVIEW IS FACTUAL. Visit this practice at your own risk. I am a Primary Care Physician recruiter by day. I Vet physicians and know all the good/bad signs of a good physician and practice. Maybe this Doc was having a bad day.. Everyone should get the medical care they pay FOR and deserve... I simply don't feel like we got that. I will forward my comments to my insurance carrier as well. The service and treatment was just below standards. I would love to hear your input after your visit. I certainly hope they shape up.

The doctor and nurses that saw me were great. However, the office staff made a mistake that cost me about $150. When I called to discuss the mistake, they were impolite and took a "not my problem" stance to the problem.

Biggest waste of time and $100 ever!!! Made an appointment because I was getting red spots on my forearms and my skin (all over) is very itchy. They were nice in the office and the nurse asked me numerous questions before Dr. Hecker came in to see me. One of the questions that the nurse asked was about skin cancer in my family (which is rampant - my Mom, my Dad and my 5 brothers ALL have skin cancer). When the doctor came in I showed him the spots on my arms. He said it is broken blood vessels under my skin and asked if I was taking blood thinners. I'm not but I do take fish oil which he says can cause this. Long story short, I bought a $31 bottle of Arnika Forte which did nothing for the red spots, I got a prescription for 3 TINY tubes of cream for my itching which did nothing and HE NEVER CHECKED ME FOR SKIN CANCER!!!!!! Time to find a GOOD DERMATOLOGIST!!!!!
