Just wanted to give a shoutout to our local Hendersonville Police department. I often wonder at times why there aren't more speed traps whenever I'm driving around and I don't see speed traps set up. But going through Hendersonville, I've noticed the PD really picking it up. I haven't seen that as much with other departments, so I had to brag on em, even though I live in Goodlettsville. Thanks for working on fixing our roadways! :)

I tried to call and have a police report mailed or faxed to me. The only way to get a report is in person and to pay cash or check. My report was to be $0.30. I show up Friday and the only police officer there tells me they’re closed for the holidays and he’s not capable of getting the report. He was quite rude. Get in the 21st century, HPD. You’re failing. Guess I’ll just drive another 2.5 hours another day. What a joke.

I am so grateful for the team of police and staff that we have here. I think we have an outstanding police force in Hendersonville. My husband and I took the citizen's class that they offer. Not only did we have a great time and make some friends, but we really got to see the "behind the scenes" of the day in the life of an officer. It was very eye opening and everyone would benefit from participating.

I created this account for the express purpose of posting my disgust with the service of the H’ville Police department. I have lived in this town for 20+ years and have yet to receive any service whatsoever. I went to the station this morning to report a hit and run accident, which cause a good amount of damage on my car. First of all, it was an attitude of my inconvenience that he would have to write a report. I think that is his job, right? Then he went ahead and quite rudely took down the detailed information for about ½ hour. During this time, his personal phone ran twice, and he checked who was calling. After all this, he couldn’t find a camera to take pictures. Somewhere along his running around to find it, he “ascertained” that he couldn’t take the report at all since it happened the day before. I put the word in quotes because I have no idea if this is true and I have no confidence that he did, it was just a convenient excuse. AND THEN, he handed me a form (which he had to ask someone to help him find) and told me to file it myself. Since when does a crime or incident have to be reported ONLY on the day of? I have never heard of such a bureaucracy, but maybe that’s my misinterpretation that they are here to “protect and serve”. This department is worthless in my opinion. However, I did document when went there and will file a civil suit if need to recoup all of this, but it is clear I will have to do it myself, with my insurance agent
