I got a good deal for a 17 day rental online with Hertz, and I was quite happy with that. I also got a fairly good car (small SUV) which was fun and comfortable to drive, so I was reasonably satisfied with that. But when minor issues developed with the car (DC power outlets didn't work, a big problem today for phones and GPS etc., and a nail in a tire), there was no support from Hertz, especially not from the local Lakewood office. They said I could come in and get another car, but not the car type I had or anything similar. The Customer Service was horrendous, this guy in charge there (Patrick?) not only has an attitude, but he also doesn't believe in keeping his word. The details will bore you, but just recognize that it is what it is...

There are times I'll show up to pick up my reservation and they say "sorry, we don't have any cars." 
At least call to tell me not to come!!
