Fantastic experience all around: great staff, fun ambiance, and comfy seats. Drove over from KC to see a film that wasn't playing locally and wished we could visit all the time. Speakers were a bit tinny when the movie started, but I didn't notice anything beyond the opening credits (not sure if it was a fluke or just the score's register); not problematic enough to drop a star because everything else was fabulous.

This is an independent theatre showing independent films that's family run. The main viewing space is the original art deco theatre, but they now have a small intimate back theatre that sits about 45. Good to buy tickets ahead of time on their internet site for this one if it's a popular movie or a popular time to go to the movies.

This is one of the best places in St. Louis to see a movie. The staff is friendly, and the theater is beautiful. They use real butter on their popcorn! Unlike any other theater I've been to, I don't feel like I'm getting gouged on concessions, and they've got a nice craft beer selection. I've never had a bad experience in the years I've been going here. If you're seeing something playing in the Backlot theater, there's comfy seating, but you might want to give yourself a little extra time, as it's a smaller theater. The film's are always interesting, even if they aren't always big releases. Make your next movie night at The Hi Pointe.

Very impressive theater with an authentically and fully restored vintage era appeal. Great sound, picture and seating. Great movie date location.
