HSNC is Non Profit 501 C3 Organization. Its an Hindu Temple that serves the religious , spiritual and cultural needs for the Research Triangle Park area

Mission

Be an umbrella organization for the various Hindu and allied religious communities in Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) in meeting their religious, cultural and spiritual needs. Provide a place to worship and practice the religion. With the help of community arrange, support and encourage activities that fulfill religious, cultural, linguistic and spiritual needs of current and future generation, and promote India’s rich heritage.

Hindu Society Of North Carolina (HSNC) is a place of worship. Hindus across North Carolina gather here to pray to god.. they have idols of many Hindu gods and goddesses and the priests are very helpful and polite, they perform aarti and puja.. HSNC also hosts events for majority of Hindu festivals such as Holi, Navratri, Diwali, Karva Chauth, Teej, Shivratri, Shri Krishna Janamastami, and Many other Hindu festivals. On these occasions lot of  people gather here and celebrate the festivals. Recently they hosted an event to celebrate Holi, festival of colors and it was fun, they provided colors and there was DJ playing indian Bollywood songs and there were food stalls also. It is a good place to meet people who follow Hindu / Indian culture and make new friends..

First Hindu temple in this area. Welcoming to all faith with a variety of statues of Gods and deities.

For the first time in my life I left a mandir without doing Darshan. In fact, due to the rude parking staff I did not even make it into the mandir. I asked the parking attendant if I could drop off my 82 year old grandmother and cousin who is legally blind and mentally challenged in the front, (I was ok with driving back around and parking in the grass) as I cannot risk having them walk through the uneven grassy wooded area where we were told the park. The attendant said "all you people keep giving me excuses" and turned to the other attendant and said I can't do this anymore with these people. So another guy came over and yelled at me to keep moving forward. When I asked him if I could drop off in the front he continued to speak rudely to me and got annoyed. Since I didn't back down he rudely told me to park to the side and stay there until he tells me to come out. I waited for 5 mins before leaving the parking lot. While I understand it is the parking lot attendants fault, I cannot help but blame the mandir committee for their lack of care in planning parking logistics for those who are not healthy and able to walk. Also, considering this is such a big weekend in the Hindu community I think it is outrageous that the temple has chosen to hire such a rude company to handle their parking.
