Journey Church is an independent non-denominational church. Our body of believers is diverse, and comes from many denominations and backgrounds. Journey partners with denominations, groups, and organizations that offer vital help in assisting us to accomplish our mission in various areas, such as world missions and leadership development.

I was in Raleigh on a business trip for the month of January 2018. I visited multiple churches in the area and finally found Journey on the last Sunday in town. I walked into the building and was greeting by individuals who love what they do and greeted me with compassion and purpose. I walked into the sanctuary and found a seat close to the center of the congregation, before the first note was played I could feel the spirit of the church. (I wish my vocabulary was large enough to properly describe how I felt and the love this church has for people). The gentleman in front of me turned around and welcomed me to Journey and said "you are going to love this place". I knew this church had something special and as soon as the worship team started singing I had confirmation, I have found a church striving for excellence. The presence of God was strong in this place and I felt right at home. When the pastor delivered the sermon it was with a love for all who were there. It was a sermon that brought self reflection with in my self to be a better  husband, father and friend.  
IF you do not have a church home then this is the place you should be. They are great examples of what Christians should be.

So I see this pastor thinks that baptism saves you!!  What an embarrassment to the church.  If he has read the word correctly, it's all by FAITH, not by anything we can do.  Baptism was for the Jews to help them get a "picture" of what had happened to them when they believed on Christ! That they were dead to the law, that their old way was dead and and buried (going under water) and that they were a new creation in Christ.   1 Peter even talks about it "saved" them by "helping them in their minds" get a pic of what happened.  Saved is used a different times in the KJV but it doesn't always mean "salvation of your soul."  It's either by Grace or no way at all.   The only baptism that Counts is spiritual , when the Holy Spirit baptizes you into Christ.  Learn this pastor, please

The people here are serious about sharing Jesus Christ with this city, this nation, and the world. Do not go if you want tradional church, however; if you are tired of playing house, and playing church get to Journey Church today.  Blessings to you, Pastors, families, and your staffers. Blessings to you and this Church.

I am posting this because I tried to attend twice consecutively.  Parking is an absolute nightmare.  I found a spot behind the building.  It took a while.  Mind you, this is the first time I tried to attend the church.  I walk up to the door and it was locked.  I looked for another entrance and walked into a family I assumed were members.  Followed them and walked into the right entrance.  I stood in the lobby for 30 seconds and left.  I did not feel welcomed.  I walked out and passed another family heading in and it was like I'm not even there.  

First impressions are lasting ones and I pushed past my feelings of awkwardness and tried again only to be disappointed.  Everyone is so busy that you don't know or recognize when someone new comes.  I was brought up in church my entire life and am disappointed that I decided to visit this church after a conversation with my brother in law's co-worker told me he goes and loves it.  I gave it a try and am so upset, I'm writing this review so the church leadership know about my experience.

A church of love and worship. The word of God is ever present. The fellowship of his suffering is so tangible. A current and wonderful experience! Pastor Jimmy is filled with passion and the love of God!!
