Excellent selection of treats from Germany! From candies, beers, beverages, and other treats. They also have fresh sausages that are wonderful. The one must have item from here are their rum balls. It's chocolate cake soaked in rum balled up and covered with chocolate.

I had the Belgian waffle with pecans. I was a little disappointed that it came with cold packaged syrup and not hot nor homemade. At least if it was hot it would been better. My wife had the potato pancakes and they were good though. Breakfast was still good nonetheless.

The service was great, personal were able to describe the products, I gained 16 pounds just looking at the selection of pastry. The restaurant is equally good. Never had a bad meal.

Nice little joint. We predictably had Ruebens which were better than average in that the cuts of meat were lean. They gladly substitute German potato salad for chips. The selection of German sweets was a nice bonus. This is also one of the few places in Helen with its own parking, though it's practically downtown, so we walked.

We had the best breakfast at Hofer's. I had ham and cheese on top of grilled bread from their bakery, served with scrambled eggs. Delicious! My husband had a dish I can't pronounce, but it is apples slices, pan-fried, and dipped in cinnamon sugar. Absolutely wonderful! Also, I am picky about coffee, and I truly enjoyed the coffee they serve. Definitely recommend!
