Holiday Inn Express Redwood City completed a major renovation in 2014. Wonderful place to stay from every angle! Really affordable (especially for the area) with more than adequate free parking. Good location central to SF/SFO/San Jose, but still quiet at night. Front desk staff was fast and responsive. The room was prepared with so many cute, unique touches beyond what I would expect for a Holiday Inn Express - towels folded into intriguing creatures, hand-written welcome messages (with stickers!), and a toilet paper bow to boot. And of course there's the adorable R2-D2-like room service robot. Breakfast was delicious, especially the cinnamon buns. Used the gym - rudimentary but functional, well-stocked with clean towels and sanitizing wipes. Only theoretical issue - I was here for vacation and could care less, but if I were here on business, the slow WiFi and minimal business center amenities might have been frustrating. In all, the bay area always feels crowded, but this hotel has really made the best of the limited real estate, and even though the lobby and rooms are on the small side, it feels cozy rather than cramped thanks to the above-and-beyond attitude of all the staff.

The staff was very nice and they have a robot!! You can't beat that! Good clean room. Good value. Close to SF and San Jose - right in the middle.

This hotel is very nice and modern. Lots of outlets in the room and the TV connections are even in front of it instead of on the side or behind, if that is a concern of yours. The Relay robot is a neat feature. It even visits you at breakfast to ask how it went. The staff were very nice. The only problems I can think of are that the breakfast did not have many options and the view from the window was not great.

I'd give the property zero stars, but that's not an option. Manager at the hotel charged me a night's no-show when, due a clerical error, I booked a room at the Holiday Inn down the street by mistake. I have Platinum status with IHG Rewards, but no matter. Neither the manager at that property or the "customer care" help desk did a thing. Loyalty is a one-way street, and loyal, once-a-week-stay customers aren't the priority, based on what happened here. With the status I've worked hard to attain, I expect more. Stay somewhere else.

Clean rooms, great pre-made breakfast burritos, close to food downtown for lunch and dinner, easy parking
