Holy Sepulchre Cemetery is a Catholic cemetery in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is owned by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Located at 4001 West Cheltenham Avenue, it abuts the county line separating Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County from Northwest Philadelphia. It has a Chestnut Hill mailing address (PO Box 27544, Philadelphia, PA 19118-0452), although the grounds are on the Montgomery County side of the boundary, in Cheltenham Township. It was opened in 1894.Notable burials Stan Baumgartner (1894–1955), major league baseball pitcher Michael Crescenz, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient (Vietnam), later reinterred in Arlington National Cemetery William J. What I wouldn't do to have my father moved from this dump. It used to be really nice but then StoneMor came to ruin it. Took me a year to get my dad's name inscribed because the ground keepers broke the 9 year old stone there. Certified letters from my attorney went ignored. No one cares- they just try to sell you stuff. Tacky advertising for 0% financing, potholes, torn American flags, trash, weeds/high grass in summer... My dad gone over a year now & I dread going here to see what's gotten even worse. Took Archdiocese intervention a year later to get them to do sort of the right thing by replacing our privately purchased stone. Beware here. The employees will claim to be from the archdiocese and they are not. They're sales people who they can't retain that could care less about anything other than a dollar. Positively scum criminals- Google them. The archdiocese does nothing but apologize because the deal with the devil has already been made. Hey Stonemor, my name is Anne Smith & you will never get rid of me. I'm out there on a regular basis taking photographs of the conditions there. Nice exit on Easton Road btw... probably need new tires. Just avoid this scam company- this is not our archdiocese anymore. My precious father in the city dump with conscious voided people caring for his eternal resting place. Great feeling.

My late relative’s child paid over a thousand dollars to change the stone 6 months ago, and was promised job would be done in about 45 days. He called the salesperson multiple times to follow up, and finally got hold of the salesperson who said he would check things out and get back, but he never did. My relative’s child lives out of state. Terrible thing to do to the grieving child/family. Where is Holy Sep’s staff’s conscience after collecting the money?

It's bean a year now and my father's name is still not inscribed in his stone, yet the salespeople are fast selling you their lot. No conscience at all!!!

Anyone who is buried at Holy Sepulchre is recorded in a log book going back to 1888 when the cemetery opened. If you know the month and year someone is buried then your search for section, range and lot # is simple to find.

Cemetery was not able to find two of my relatives' plots known beyond doubt to be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery on Cheltenham Ave. --a disgrace. I have no doubt that they keep the grounds better than most cemeteries, but their record keeping is inexcusable and offensive.
