Story

Hometown's History~
Hometown Farm & Garden was established in March 1972, by J.A. Girgenti, in a bakery building that is located about 1.5 blocks south of this present location. Hometown was given this name to represent "down-home service." The word "Hometown" gives a sense of invitation or a feeling of welcome "come on in". This service oriented philosophy was and will always be the backbone of Hometown.
Hometown operated as a feed, seed, lawn and garden, and nursery retailer with very minimal hardware. In 1978, after outgrowing its location J.A. moved into the present location. Hometown began expanding its feed and hardware lines with this added inventory space (10,000 sq.ft.) Hometown became a Purina Dealer in 1980 and an Ace Hardware Dealer in 1983.
Through the next several years with increased interest in hardware from the needs of our customers and the greater profit margins, we took the hardware expansion to levels we had never seen before. Adding inventory on three separate occasions in the 90's, 2001 and our recent expansion in February 2011. In April 2010 we added lumber due to the growing demand of customers and the need for a lumber supplier in our area. In 1996, Hometown Farm & Garden incorporated and became Hometown Ace Hardware.
With the sky as our limit, our future focus is to become the premier hardlines retailer of hardware, feed and lawn and garden products in our prospective market.
