Dr. Melamed is an amazing surgeon and I’m so grateful for how he took care of my mom. The surgery he performed was perfect and now she can live her life without that excruciating pain she had before Dr. Melamed operated on her. He is so compassionate and really listens to his patients. Lastly, his staff has been so kind and helpful. Thank you!

Dr. Melamed operated on my husband who had been in excruciating pain for years after a prior failed back surgery. He is now pain free. We had a rough start with the office staff but he remedied all issues. We highly recommended Dr. Melamed to everyone.

Dr. Melamed is amazing. I had dealt with severe sciatica in my left leg for 10 years. When I first met him, he suggested we get me in physical therapy and some epidural steroid injections to ease the pain. I was very happy me he wasn't going directly to surgery as the fix. I wanted to avoid surgery at all cost. It wasn't until I was rear ended a couple months into treatment, the MRI showed my disc protruding further out leaving only one option. Surgery was inevitable, if I ever wanted to live a pain free life. He educated me on what a Microdiscectomy was and offer me a non narcotic pain treatment for after which I was very happy about. I have to admit I was very nervous but willing. It has only been one month since my surgery and I feel amazing. I'm excited to get back into being physically active and enjoying life with my family. Thank you Dr. Melamed.

Dr. Melamed saved my life as well. After reviewing my X-rays and MRI, I had 100% confidence in his recommendations. My spinal cord became compressed and I was walking with an abnormal gait. It felt like I was slowly becoming crippled. Dr. Melamed and his outstanding team performed a 9 hour cervical spine procedure and two weeks later a 6 hour lumbar procedure. Recovery can be hard as was mine. Immediately after surgery I was walking with a normal gait. I’m back to weight lifting and hiking again. I went from spiraling in depression to feeling great. Also, thank you to all the medical professionals at Marina Del Rey Hospital and D.I.S.C.

Dr. Melamed gave me back the chance to live a pain-free life. what more can I say? :) I was actually really reluctant to see a surgeon because you always hear horror stories about surgeries gone wrong, or some weird complication like being allergic to anesthesia...etc. But once I spoke with Dr. Melamed a few times, and did some thinking, it became pretty clear that going to him was the best thing i've done for my spine. The thing that makes Dr. Melamed really wonderful is that he takes more innovative approaches (but not in a risky way either, everything is well thought out). I had spoken with other surgeons and I always got this impression that all the other surgeons were very "textbook surgeons"... like see problem A, use solution A, see problem B, use solution B. While there's nothing wrong with using traditional textbook approaches, medical knowledge in the textbook can be a bit lagging sometimes (and also is not optimized to consider the patient's specific scenarios). When you consider something like the spine, you really have to piece together a lot more than just "use solution A". there's a whole lot more to consider, and it felt that Dr. Melamed was the only surgeon that had placed a lot more long-term thought into his approach. So needless to say, I'm extremely satisfied with how things turned out after I saw Dr. Melamed. If you had some back issues, I would HIGHLY recommend seeing him for a visit!
