Story

We are located in Hot Springs County in the town of Thermopolis, WY. We would love for you to come and visit and take a step back in time. We have two floors in our main building and an additional five buildings in our annex area. We have an extensive collection of amazing artifacts. We have a very extensive collection of Arrowheads that is one of the largest in the area. We are home to the Original Hole-in-the-Wall Bar. It is the very bar where Butch Cassidy would hang out with his gang. The Bar was owned by Tom Skinner whom was a personal friend of Butch. So come on in and spend a day with us.

When you come visit here a few things you might want to know about us. Military active/retired and their families are always free. Adults are $4, seniors 60 and over are $2, children 6-12 are $2 and children 5 and under are free and all locals from Hot Springs County are $1. We accept cash or check however, at this time we are not able to accept credit/debit cards. Any questions please feel free to contact us here at the Museum

This is an amazing museum with Indian artifacts, rocks & minerals, the famous "Hole-in-the-Wall" bar and a huge display of early days in Hot Springs County. My favorite display item is the carriage which was used in the Yellowstone National Park way back in the day. Well worth the visit!

Staff is very friendly. For a small County Museum very well-appointed. A must-see if you stay in Thermopolis. Our visit was June 19th 2017.

Tons of awesome historical items there. And the gift shop is reasonably priced as is the entrance fee.
