The Riverton Museum holds & displays artifacts from the 20th-century pioneers who brought a new town & community to live at the big bend of the Wind River.
Since 1906, when the city was formally founded, Riverton has been a destination for settlers of all walks of life. For centuries before that, the Lower Wind River Valley was the hunting grounds for the Shoshone, Arapaho, and Crow, and in the 19th century of the early Mountain Men such as Jim Bridger. The 20th century brought changes in every decade, from the tent city of the first decade to the modern city of the turn of the millennium. Come learn about every stage of this history at the Riverton Museum.
