My girlfriend and I, both experienced in fly fishing dropped by to get licenses only to find out that they don't do licensing. Then I asked about the river conditions and was looking for advice explaining that I only had knowledge of the Farmington river. I was told this; "that's the feminine in you talking, you need to masculine up. Anyone can fish and wade the Farmington, this is a deep water river." The employee then went on to say "she can show you how to fish the Farmington" as he pointed to my girlfriend. So I guess I'll take the $400+ I was willing to spend on waders somewhere else. Come here if you want to talk to a sexist employee who thinks they are above everyone.

Staff have immense knowledge of fly fishing and are always willing to lend a hand, or talk to any passing angler.

This is a great shop with a lot to offer. They have a very knowledgeable staff. If your in the area it is worth the visit. If you want to catch some monster fish they also offer guiding fishing trips on the Housatonic River.
