Story

THE HOUSE:

House of Independents brings Asbury Park's ever growing community of creative thinkers a venue that reflects their originality and versatility. The House supports a wide spectrum of uses, with convertible attributes such as its retractable seating system and movable stages. The over 200 stadium-style seats can be implemented for theatre productions, movie premieres, conferences and more, or they can be hidden away to open floor space for events such as weddings, concerts, and fundraisers.

Really great venue. I've seen several shows here, ranging in genre and one comedy show. The sound is great and the staff is really kind. There was really nice stadium style seating set up during the comedy show, so there really wasn't a bad seat in the house. You'll occasionally get the people who just stroll in on a random weekend show, who will just talk through an entire set, distracting the people who actually came to see the band. Other than that, there's not really a bad thing to say about the venue. Great place with a fantastic staff

Was here for my first time during Emo Night. Definitely had a blast! Make sure though you come early, because parking will fill up quickly around the venue before the night starts. This place can hold quite a bit of people easily on the upstairs bar area and down on the floor in front of the stage. Downstairs area also has a bar and bathrooms too.

This place has great shows, but unfortunately the maximum level security and intense body searches kills it for me.  I've been to multiple reggae shows here where people were kicked out just for vaping.  It's rumored that some of the venues employ off-duty police from the area, so be careful if you're attending a show here.  Personally, I don't think I'll be back again, unless something changes drastically in the way their security is ran

We had our wedding here and it was awesome. It’s amazing how you can transform a place that hosts Emo night Brooklyn to a nice wedding venue. The guys there were super easy to work with and treated us great.

Also it’s an awesome place for a show

Great independent/versatile venue in Asbury Park.  First off the sound has been great the times I have attended shows.  Also, I like the separation of the bar upstairs (and the noise/light that comes with all bars) from the main concert area downstairs.  The place is so small you can traverse between up/down easily.  The stadium seating is nice too when the venue offers different seated programs/shows.
