The food is really flavourful you will not be disappointed! I never get pictures because I usually dig right in The chicken is really good and the cornbread is very thick with a strong crust and bottom. Try to not come at the end of the day as they can sell out of favorites quickly! Very friendly and kind Staff, very giving! I usually get the chicken dinner with different sides, this time shown I got rice and gravy with yams And the the other picture is a special, shrimp and fries!
House of Soul did NOT disappoint. Friendly staff & service. I had the snapper, mac and cheese, cabbage & yams. My friend had the same sides but with turkey wings. The cornbread was just ok. Everything was tasty, nice portions. The pic is of my leftovers that became dinner the next day.
If u like this place... U don't know good food... yams were undercooked Mac and cheese horrible green beans good cornbread hard as hell... I wish my friend could get a refund... I hate he paid for this nasty food... Kool aid wasn't really Kool aiding. ..
Good for the most part. My friend found that one of her pork chops was a little under cooked. They ran out of catfish and didn't have any greens in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. There was a big handwritten sign on the door that said Cash Only, Exact Change Only. I feel, as an established business, they should have planned better. They should have made sure they had adequate funds or the capability to utilize credit or debit, and they should have had enough food.

This is the best soul foods I’ve had in years! The chef and server is very friendly and personal. Though we were just visiting, they treated us as family! Every dish served were yummy and value for money. We were so filled in our tummies and heart by the time we were done. Definitely a place worth going again!!
Neat spot. Good food. I ordered the chicken fried steak special. Generous portions of sides of mashed potatoes and collard greens. Came with cornbread. The steak itself was a little small, but I saw other plates that seemed to have large portions [fried chicken and meat loaf. The cornbread is not the sweet kind, like in the south. I loved the decor. One caveat--i recommend ordering ahead if you can. I waited for 15-20 minutes for my plate, and it didn't appear to be very busy. Maybe not so big a problem if you have longer than a half hour for lunch break.
Second visit and second good meal. Tonight I ordered the smothered pork chops, so tasty. The sides are hefty potions and taste delicious. Good southern comfort food at its best!
Great food, nice service and I'm sure when COVID-19 allows indoor seating again, it has a family friendly atmosphere. Everything is take-out for now.
