We used Hudson Movers in July 2022 to move part of our home into an apartment and part of our home went into their storage facilities. Storage was expensive and we paid for one year. The moving part was fine but the storage was terrible. Several pieces of our furniture were returned scratched or broken, plus they damaged an antique desk. We were given minimal compensation for these items last year. And now we just unpacked some more china boxes and found more broken items dishes etc, and some items are shattered. Hudson Movers storage is absolutely horrible and I would strongly advise anyone who needs a mover with storage services to keep looking. Do not use Hudson Movers.
Allied Van Lines, Mayflower Van Lines and United Van Lines were the vanguard of the long haul transportation companies, who moved my family several times between Canada and the United States between 1962 and 1980. In family tradition, I deliberately without malice or forethought sought out the remaining vestiges of those transportation companies and discovered United Van Lines celebrated Canadian Subsidiary Hudson Movers located in the Birchmount Park District of Scarborough, Ontario. Three men Mike, Dominic {both Professional Wrestlers} and his brother Bart {Named no doubt after one of the heroes on the television show co-starring Jack Kelly as Bart Maverick} drove up in Blanche 10-Tonne Transport Truck at 9 a.m. on November 01, 2023. Over the next eight hours they loaded up 14,000 Lbs into the truck. Just like Alexandre Dumas’s legendary swashbuckling Musketeers Athos, Aramis and Porthos, the next day they got up at dawn and drove over 300 Kilometres and arrived on Thursday, November 02 a little before High Noon. Hudson’s Logistic Man Pat Flynn told us be prepared to expect the unloading to take place over two days and not completed until around mid-day Friday. Moving like the Flying Wallendas Acrobats, they tag teamed to miraculously empty the entire contents of the transport truck by 5 p.m. the Same Day! As I’d badly injured by left shoulder, I was limited in lifting and moving around heavy items. As I was struggling to put together our Mission Style Slate Bed Frame and a large heavy Ikea L-Shaped Office Desk, Dominic stepped up and assisted me in putting them together. As the late George Peppard is loving remembered for saying ‘I Love It When a Plan Comes Together’….and Hudson Movers made sure our moving plan came together successfully! Honorably Mention to Client Care Manager Sherry who was always helpful & cheery.
This moving company was outstanding from start to finish. The crew members Jonny, Mike, Joswa and Ethan were punctual, careful with all our belongings, patient and so hardworking. They alleviated all the stress that comes with managing a big move and gave us such peace of mind. We couldn't feel more grateful and would recommend Hudson Movers without hesitation to anyone. I loved our experience with Hudson movers, and particularly Jeff's crew. They went over and above to make our move-out and and subsequent move-in totally stress free. Jeff even helped us take down and set up some particularly complicated furniture and put it back together like new. Jeff and his team make the job look easy! I would highly recommend Hudson movers.
Moving is one of life’s top stresses and most share horror stories of their movers and moving day - Jeff, Kyle, and Makaila + the team at Hudson Movers made our day as painless as possible. Jeff’s crew treated our possessions as if they were their own. They went above and beyond and worked with a smile and a positive attitude all day. I highly recommend this trio and Hudson!
This is the third time we have used Hudson Mover’s. They were, once again, excellent from start to finish.
