Friendly place with a cool but laid back vibe. Has a bar as well as many booths and tables. Quite a few large tables that could be good for seating larger groups. Really extensive beer list with local Iowa beers highlighted in red text on drink menu, as well as a number of other craft beer staples. Also have many different types of mules on the drink menu as well as a full bar for any other cocktails. Known for their burgers, you won't leave disappointed. A very large selection of different types, with all kinds of toppings. Also check out the "fancy fries" section of the menu for some fun and unique appetizer options. Overall great burger place to get a drink with friends or family in a relaxed atmosphere.

Went to Hudson's for the first time this evening. Loved the decor/atmosphere. I had the jalapeno-corn chowder soup; delicious with a bit of a kick! Also had the house salad which was beautifully presented with mixed greens. My friend had chicken wings with bleu cheese dipping sauce...thumbs up! Good service, reasonable pricesm Will definitely be going back!

A nice, upscale restaurant with a focus on burgers, hot dogs, and mac and cheese. Lots of variety of each type. The two times I ate at Hudson's I ordered hamburgers and each time the meat was dry and underseasoned. The sides are limited, but my biggest complaint about the sides are that there are no onion rings. In a burger joint! One hamburger offering does have them but you can't order them as a side. The quality of service really varies as well. The first time I went my friend and I received slow service from the waitress and when we finally got our order she had brought me the wrong sandwich. The cooks were very slow in preparing the correct sandwich. The second time I went (I'm always willing to give a place several chances) we had a great waitress but the food was no better.

I was pretty excited about this place given other reviews and I must say I was incredibly let down. It wasn't the worst. The atmosphere is good, the service was good but the food (save our poutine) was a major let down. The poutine was exactly what I wanted, no extra globbed on ingredients and a decent amount of cheese curds. Disregarding our local Zombie burger it tasted like a tamer version of their poutine. The mozz and tomato on crustini was a bit sad, really bland mozz and I know tomatoes are out of season but these were extra mushy and it just wasn't as flavorful as I'm used to. Again might be that we're out of season on tomatos. My burger was the biggest let down. Mushrooms, green peppers, brie and red pepper mayo on meat (chicken breast in my case) sounds like a sure winner. This was anything but. The mushrooms were canned which if you're into that, you'll like it but it's a huge NOPE for me. I think the green peppers were canned too, super mushy and lacking any flavor. The brie was nice, rind on gave a bit of flavor and the saddest part was the red pepper mayo was good but you'd never know it was there as it's completely overpowered by that 'canned' flavor of the mushrooms and the huge amount of other stuff even the brie was overpowered by the mushrooms. Friend got the Bahn Mi and while it's the same-ish ingredients as one, it's a far cry from one. The pulled pork (it might have been chicken) was super mushy. And the overall taste wasn't what she said she associates with a Bahn Mi, though if it were just an 'Asian Sandwich' as she put it, it would have been so-so. Again, service was good and atmosphere was good but for a menu that boasts locally sourced meat, you'd expect more. On the plus side they pay their staff a good wage (or say they do :P ) and it's clean and friendly. Would be a great place to have a drink but I doubt I'll eat there again.

Had the hotdog with chili and it was so flavorless and dry. It’s like the hotdog had been sitting in back for a couple weeks and they decided to heat it on the grill. Chili was dry as well. We came here because the reviews were good! Ambience is nice and server was nice but I was thinking of kitchen nightmares while eating the hotdog. Terrible.
