Story

James Hearn opened the first Hungry Howie's on Telegraph Road in Taylor, Michigan in 1973. At the time, Steve Jackson delivered pizzas for Hearn. Howie's soon became a popular hangout for students at nearby Taylor Jr. High and Taylor Center High Schools. Hearn and Jackson partnered and, in 1982, made the decision to franchise their operation. The first Hungry Howie's franchise was awarded in 1983.

Within the first three years, the company franchised 65 locations. By 1990, the number had grown to 160. In 2005, the company opened its 500th store.[3] There are currently over 550 Hungry Howie's franchises located in 21 states.

Love this place! I've never had a bad order and Ive had just about everything on their menu. Salads are big, oven baked sandwiches are awesome. Dough is amazing. Best pizza around! Would recommend to everyone!

Watch out for John with the glasses as he is known for sneezing and spitting in the pizzas. When I confronted him about sneezing into my pizza, he just laughed and said he would not refund my money after I had already paid for it. I left with no pizza and no refund. I later told the store owner Jarod about the situation and he told me I was lying and would not issue me a refund even after not getting the pizza I paid for originally. I had to dispute the charge with my bank and got my money back thankfully. Be careful of this disgusting and shady business. Ok just got another pizza after the bad review I left and the pizza was burned, probably because I got my money back for the last incident.

The pizza at Hungry Howie's its amazing. The pizza's are loaded with flavor an cheese.prepared fresh every single day. U have to get u some.

Never really had hungry howies before until a few weeks ago... I love it.!! I eat there at least 2 to 3x a week while I'm at work now... customer service is great.! The new manager is really makimg a difference... theyre very honest with how long your pizza may take to get to you and i truly appreciate that.!! They have become a bad habit to my eating but a DELISIOUS one for my taste buds.!!

I absolutely love the meatball sub from hungry howie's, it is the best sub I have ever eaten. Definitely recommend.
