My hair stylist was great but the owner is not. The owner was mad from the moment she walked into the salon. I was already seated with my stylist and instantly could tell the atmosphere changed. The salon went from happy soft chit chat all around to quiet. But that’s nothing compared to the uncomfortable feeling I was subjected to when in the wash room. My stylist was washing and toning my hair when the owner called a different stylist into the wash room and proceeded to yell at her. The stylist told the owner she was with a client but the owner didn’t seem to care that she pulled this stylist away from a half done client to yell at her in front of me and my stylist. The owner proceeded to yell at this stylist for not having the right music on when the owner came in and not creating the right atmosphere. Keep in mind im not positive but pretty sure we were listening to “Todays hits” on pandora. There was also something about the stylist accidently breaking something the night before and not telling the owner until the fallowing morning. This went on for at least 3-5 minutes of the owner yelling and cursing profusely at the stylist. The hole time my stylist and I were stuck in the room. The owner finally walked out of the room and the stylist who was just berated in front of clients and fellow employees politely apologized to me. Did the owner, Nope. I would guess this is her normal Very unprofessional attitude. I truly feel bad for the stylist subjected to this owner.

I tried so hard to fall in love with this salon but after 5 visits in a year, I couldn't deny any longer that it wasn't just an off day for the stylist like i had tried to believe. The first time I ever went to see her she hadn't officially opened yet. She cut my hair much shorter than I wanted that time and instead of ombred beach hair like I went in for, I had super brassy, solid gold hair. Second time she wasn't even there when I got to my appointment and said she forgot about the appointment when I messaged her that I was outside. so I had to come back the next day at noon. The next appointment she was so backed up that I waited 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment and she said The hair cut was free if I left without being dried or styled because she was so busy. About six months went by and I went in for my last 2 visits in Feb 2018. The owner has such a fun personality and the shop is pretty, but I never once got what I went in for. My last visit consisted of 2 days straight on the chair. Day one was a cut and lightening of my hair. I showed many pictures of ashy and light brown hair and was fully understanding that I wouldn't get light brown hair right off the bat, but I came out with solid strawberry blonde hair. That by itself wasn't the end of the world, but the horrific splotches and lines where the foils were placed were EVERYWHERE!! Any way I parted my hair they were undeniable. I let the owner know and she got me in the next day. I asked her to just put a light brown color over it because i was humiliated by the spots everywhere and she seemed so offended that I didn't want her to put more bleach in my hair, she said she could get me where I wanted to be and instead she proceeded to lighten even more. She put more baby lights and some low lights and at this point strange splotches were still visible and the low lights just ended up looking like bad dark chunky streaks in my hair. She rooted me and there was no soft transition of color it was just brown to brassy gold with a very harsh line. My hair wasn't even in the ball park of what I had originally went in for. She even told me the second day I was lucky she wasn't charging me for a color correction visit (even though she botched my hair)! I paid $130 and I was so embarrassed by my hair after so many coworkers asked who did my hair and joked to remind them not to go to her, that I attempted to fix it myself. Now my hair is almost what I asked for in the first place, but because of myself. When I was at Sall's beauty supply buying stuff to do my own hair, 2 girls in there had told me they heard similar things from girls about their experience at Hustle and Blow.
