This grocery store is very good in terms of selection (of course, no one can compete with Woodman's on this) and excellent for ease of navigating throughout. Their produce is usually fantastic, and they frequently have good sales. The prices are higher than Woodman's and picknsave, but I feel that the general store niceness and better than average selection help balance that out. The biggest downside for me shopping here is the lack of self check-outs and length of line at the other checkouts. Luckily, this can be mitigated by only getting a couple of things and checking out in the liquor area. The bagging techniques are sometimes faulty as well. P.S. I wish they carried coconut flavored Cascade Ice soda :D

Their take-out is really good. The produce section is minimally acceptable, and their meat and fish selections are very thin. There's also less options for groceries. Staff is friendly and helpful, but they can't helpful find what the store doesn't have. Prices are in line with everywhere else. The place looks great, but it's a lot of style over substance.

Quality of produce is pretty good, but prices are high on most everything else compared to Woodman's. Biggest complaint I have and the reason I won't go back is they do an end of day on the registers at midnight and you must stand and wait for about 15 minutes or more while the registers reboot. The cashier actually had the nerve to not even be at her lane when this was happening and even argued that other stores do the same. I can tell you I've never encountered this at Woodman's, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, or Speedway, so they need to get this resolved.

If you are looking for fresh, squeaky, near room temperature cheese curds (best way to eat them), look no further. Ask for the Hook's fresh cheese curds in the plastic cups near the deli counter. You can thank me later.

Hyvee totally rocks as a grocery store!!!! The employees are friendly and helpful. The food in the Asian, Italian and hickory grill is incredible with the option to eat there in a Restaurant or to go. You can get fresh soups and awesome panini. Great selection of cheese. The healthy area has a really good selection of organic, gluten free and vegan options which I really appreciate. And there's a liquor store as well as a pharmacy. Great floral department and a Starbucks. I also like that they hire special needs people as well as elderly. Definitely the best grocery store in Madison. Way to go odana road store!!! Only grocery store I stop at!!!
