The place is nice. I like the big potato outside. The gift shop is neat and nice for suvineers. The museum part is nice. There are all kinds of things to see like the biggest potato chip. It’s not hard to miss when you drive by. The staff there is friendly

Cute little museum illustrating the history of the potato. The employees were so sweet and even offered to take our photo in front of the giant potato out front.

This was quirky and odd. I was not sure if this was one of the best places on our entire trip, or just odd enough for us to wonder what happened. This is of course a museum to stuff that no one cares about. Except the people locally that make a living off the stuff. I grew up in a small town so I know what I am talking about here. If you go in all serious, you have wasted your time. We went in laughing and joking. A giant display of potato mashers. peelers, and many other odd implements of cooking, and farming. We learned a few things and got free potatoes on the way out. What a day.

Go to the cafe and order the potato ice cream. It is vanilla ice cream in the shape of a potato, rolled in cocoa powder, split like a baked potato, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. It looks like a real baked potato with the fixings. Unique and delicious.

I have always wanted to go to the potato museum and finally did! It was a fun experience! I learned a lot about potatoes and saw some really great artifacts. There were some cool videos with different processes of how they make different potato products. The only thing that was a disappointment was I had heard there was a sack of potatoes given to the visitors from out of state. (Taters for out of staters—clever huh?) Sadly, they now just give out a box of dehydrated hash browns. Still good, and grateful, but it’s not quite a real sack of potatoes ;)
