Great hometown grocery. Large fruits, vegetables selection for small store. They sell beer, but not on Sunday. They have a bakery. Good food.

Prices are rather high but not exorbitant for a small town grocery store. Under the new owners service varies wildly. It is either amazing or sucks pond water. One cashier will give you his undivided attention, call for help getting your groceries to the car when it's clear you've got more than you can handle and make you feel like you were his most important customer that day. Another cashier is too busy chatting with a stocker to acknowledge your existence, doesn't bag your groceries, takes your money wordlessly, and, as you clamor to get a huge pile of groceries into ten bags and into your cart he's shoving the next customer's groceries over your knuckles as though you've already blown the joint. Same situation within the aisles...ask a young lady where the apple butter is and get, "Apple butter! Hehe. I don't think we carry THAT." I finally did find it with the peanut butter. Ask a young man where the Biz bleach alternative is. He asks a few questions to get a handle on what kind of product in looking for them leads me to where it would be if they carried it. It's not there so he advises me to continue shopping while he does further research. Ten minutes later he finds me and tells me they haven't carried it up to that point but he just spoke to the person in charge of ordering laundry products and they will have it on the shelf by the beginning of the week. Then, rather apologetically he asks me if I know it's a lot more expensive then the bleach alternatives they already carry. "Yes, I'm aware but it gets out grass stains, blood, catsup, chocolate...things the others won't touch." He thanks me for that information so he can share it with other customers. How in the world do they end up with such horrible and excellent customer service in the same store. Why is the horrible service tolerated? Why aren't those performing with excellence rewarded? (I asked around, they aren't...maybe that's the problem.)

It's amazing. I love everything about it except the customers. The workers were nice though!

The cost of food is outrageous.. I could get twice as much food at Walmart for what I would spend at IGA
