We've used this facility numerous times through the years.  It definitely "self service", but we've usually found it clean and tidy, same issue as the other reviewer about the change machine at times - to be safe bring your own coins.  

The brushes on the self-service" wand can get dirty or oily, but we grew up with these type of car washes.  You just have to remember to take the high pressure nozzle to the brush before you use the brush on your car + if you see oil or muck just use the other side.  Unfortunately, some customers don't really care how they leave the brush (and what they may try and wash with it) and with since its not staffed full-time it might take a few hours before someone notices it.

There aren't many options unless you want to drive to Kings Beach or Tahoe City.  And the "self service" brush with a little effort is the best at getting the pine pollen or salt off your car.  Just count on spending $6+ because of the cycle times.

I apologize for the Owner to the other reviewer.  Most every business owner in Tahoe is hard working and really cares about their business and customers.  Maybe he was having a bad day, don't we all - but you absolutely deserve better service.

We washed our car at the Kings Beach Car Wash last week and were surprised right away that NOBODY even WORKS THERE.  The other thing is that at the end of the wash the brush that supposed to clean our car LEFT GREASE all over it. We spend another hour cleaning the car by hand. And we could not get hold of anybody from this Car Wash - phone numbers we found WERE NOT ANSWERING.  Moreover, when we finally got the call back from the owner (it took him several days to respond to our voice massage), he started very rude saying that we should have been expert the brush and all equipment before using it, he also said that he can not be at all his business locations all the time and he will not return any money.    We paid $5 to make our car even dirtier, washed it by hand and then had such a rude call back from the owner. He did not even try to apologize to us.    We will never be back to Kings Beach or his other place in Incline Village.

I've stopped by here several times and the coin machines are always empty and no one is ever getting their car washed. I seriously wonder if this car wash is some sort of racket.
