We started with vegetable samosas, and I had the lamb vindaloo for my meal. I forgot to grab pics of the garlic naan and rice. Overall great food.Food: 4/5
We had naan, rice, chicken kalimirchi, lamb Rogan Josh and sweet lassi. Quality and quantity are good. I’m taking a star away because both non veg dishes had raw garlic smell which was not nice. Lassi was average Wheelchair accessibility: There is no wheelchair access
This was our first day in NYC, and after flight and too much of public transportation which New York is famous for yes we are lazy here in LA driving cars all the time, we decided to search for an Indian food place. As huge fans of Indian food, that would have been very interesting to compare. What can I say - after Indian Summer, it feels like all the Indian food that we ate before, on the West Coast, is a knock off! Mohammad and his team were accommodating, super friendly and polite, the portions size is just right, and the taste - it's not just tasty food. It's magically delicious food. MAGICALLY! The duck breast was cooked to perfection - crispy, but juicy. While there are lots of places that offer baked duck, very few of them do it right, and this is the best for sure. Try it yourself nd thank me later. Lamb tikka masala, naan, and the special Indian tea with milk - all is great! We will definitely come again when back to NYC in summer!
Lovely restaurant and staff! - Lamb Chettinad: it was recommended by the server, and I’m glad I tried it out! A little spicy, and the black pepper adds a bit of a kick. - Lamb Korma: The sauce is super creamy and smooth. Milder than the Chettinad! - The curry comes with rice decorated with herbs on top - Chatpata Poori: very sweet, but tbf, I’m not the biggest fan of these in general — probably would order pakoras or lasuni gobi instead next time.
Nice and cozy spot on a fairly quiet street. Not a lot of crowd or noise. When we went the place was basically empty so service was within 15 minutes of our order. The food was good. The drinks were great. Nice cozy warm spot if you are nearby. Vegetarian options: We asked the server.
Delightful experience at Indian Summer Harlem! Our server was so kind and patient. The food was SUPER FRESH and flavorful! Highly recommend the vegetable briyani! A must try when you’re in the neighborhood!Food: 5/5
Indian summer has very good Indian food at a decent price with a cozy atmosphere Tucked away underground. It was a nice summer day, there was a gentle breeze in the windows were open. And I have to say it’s some of the best I felt in a restaurant in a long time. The decor is homey and complemented by how home cooked the meals feel. Food - 15/20 Service - 6/10 Atmosphere - 8/10 Total - 29/40
This is our favorite neighborhood Indian restaurant and it never disappoints. I really enjoy the takeout & eating in when I can. The staff are so pleasant & helpful. The food is what shines - so flavorful & delicious. I'm giving the atmosphere 4 stars because it's nothing to write home about but it's cozy, simple & the staff make it feel warm. Highly recommend you stop in if you live in the area or are visiting - you won't be disappointed. Dietary restrictions: They're knowledgeable & were able to accommodate my gluten wheat & dairy milk allergy.
The appetizers are good. I liked the veggie samosa. Service is awesome. I didn’t see masala chai on the menu, but they still made me one, and it was delicious. As for entry, the chicken tikka masala is fine, but my partner is not a big fan of his eggplant entry. We think we should have ordered biryani instead, which might be their specialty
A great Indian restaurant in harlem. Crunchy onion, pea noodle tomato salad was a good start. The lamb lollipops were tender and juicy and marinated with deep flavor. Mango shrimp is a bit weird, too saucy and a little overcooked. Painting on the rice is cute. Lamb biryani and vindaloo fiery as expected. Chicken saag nice and creamy.Food: 5/5
