Story

Metta Dhamma Gift Shop is organized by Dhamma friends and families of Indiana Buddhist Temple. The temple needs to repair its driveway and restroom.

Indiana Buddhist Temple is located in 7528 Thompson Road, Hoagland (Fort Wayne Vicinity), Indiana. The temple is a 501(c)3 tax exempt non-for-profit organization.

One of the key actions of Buddhism is dana. This is related to our word, "donation", but also includes sharing, selfless giving without worrying about getting something in return. Practicing dana by making a donation of money, time and/or labor allows us to continue offering the teachings to others without cost. The temple was built and is maintained only by the generosity of all of you who value the teachings. May all beings be well and happy.

And so the Monkey travels on. Using simple monkey logic that a Monk must be more intelligent, even if only by the spelling of the name being shorter than Monkey, and thus saving time in writing the name, the Monk MUST be smarter, thought the Monkey, but found out otherwise/. The Monk first did lie about the question, then did offer Guided Meditation and rescinded that offer also. In fact, the Monk chose to give this Monkey no further time. But the Monkey with the important message, will travel on, will deliver the message ... having learned much ... primarily that Monks while on the path to enlightenment (or so they say), care not much about enlightenment at all. There is only one constant .... of merit ... Pi.

Into hoagland did arrive ...
A monkey carrying a great message of importance did arrive into the foreign tribe with the message. The monkey understood this tribe to be nearly blind and so used simple vibrations to get their attention. The foreign tribe recognized the vibrations and were stunned and frightened and instead of listening to the message ran off the foreign monkey. The monkey is a man coming into other men, who are so blind and yet so simple, they have even in their blindness on the spot, banned simple monkey language. Awake to truth ... INTO YOUR TEMPLE DID ARRIVE ... a monkey with message of great important. And so was ejected this monkey.  Let truth be spoken. Satnam.

This temple is an amazing place! When I first started going, I felt a little awkward but as a newcomer I was very welcome regardless of my background. Now I attend regularly for meditations, which are on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:30pm. The Dhamma (teachings of Buddha) classes on Saturdays at 2pm are very good as well! I love that it doesn't matter what religion you come from, what your life has been like, where you're from, who you are, or anything - the monks always make it clear that this is your spiritual home regardless of all that! I love Indiana Buddhist Temple!
