Story

Welcome to the Indiana Dunes! Drop by the Visitor Center to chat with our destination concierge, get answers from National Park rangers, pick up guides and maps, and watch our two short films. We also have a kids' activity room and picnic tables outside. Don't miss our native animals art walk around the building, which features murals by spray paint street artist ARCY.

The Visitor Center is a National Wildlife Certified Habitat as well as a Certified Monarch Waystation.

We are the official marketing agency of Porter County, Indiana which includes not just the Indiana Dunes but also our surrounding communities. Go beyond the beaches - shake off the sand south of the dunes to find your next adventure!

Conveniently located just north of I-94 on IN 49.

DIRECTIONS from I-94 East or West: Exit at IN 49 North via exit number 26B (IN Dunes Rec Areas). The Visitor Center is located on the east (right) side just before the US 20 interchange.

DIRECTIONS from I-80/90 (Indiana Toll Road) East or West: Exit at IN 49 via exit number 31 (Chesterton/Valparaiso). Turn left onto IN 49 North. Travel approximately 5 miles (or 1 mile past I-94). The Visitor Center is located on the east (right) side just before the US 20 interchange.
