The exemplar of an independent bookstore. An excellent, eclectic selection, including an astonishing array of psychology books focusing on trauma and assault. The requisite cheap bins are a bibliophiles dream come true, full of literature and odd wonders. They host readings and book launches. The physical space is pleasingly asymmetric and crowded, on a charming alleyway street in college-town New Paltz. Not dusty! Intelligent, gentle, and kind staff. Custom orders typically take less than a week. Oodles of charm, rewarding to browse; this one's a gem.

Excellent selection of books and amazing prices on the used ones. Great customer service too. I was happy with my purchase; $65 worth for $25!

I Love Inquiring Minds!  Great bookstore.  Great people.  They are local and will always order any book you need if they can get it! (which is almost any book in print)!  In fact I just called after hours and hung up because they were closed.  They called me back!  Remember take an extra few minutes to buy local.  Your money goes back into the community where it is multiplied many times.  And they have great hours too....:)
