I too was worried about going to a new salon but when I called my regular salon that I practically have to use I got really aggravated because the person who answered the phone asked who could do it you could hear people complaining so I just said forget about it. I googled places in Pikeville and found Intensity. I called and whoever answered the phone asked if someone could do a cut and color at 5, she told me my stylist would be Stephanie. When my husband and I walked in we were greeted with a smile and not a face that said you made me stay late. When I got in the chair and told her how I wanted it done, she took out her cell phone and showed me pictures of "real" people with similar hair and asked me how long it had been since the last color or cut was done; how I wanted to wear it, etc. and this kind of shocked me because no one has ever done that. I always got pretty much what the stylist wanted and if you complain they will jack your hair up. Stephanie took her time and never answered a cell phone. I've had that done to me several times during an appointment. She darkened my eyebrows and usually other stylists tell me they would have to charge for another color appointment. What really shocked me was after she rinsed my hair, she put a towel around it and then put a lotion or something on her hands and massaged all around my hair line and my neck for a little while. That was great. My color turned out beautiful and the cut is amazing!!!! My mom passed away a few months ago just 3 days before her 68th birthday and my sister passed away at the age of 45. They both had extremely thin hair and I am 45 and mine is starting to thin out quickly. Stephanie done my cut in a way that makes it look so much thicker and fuller but it does not feel heavy at all. Stephanie, you a are one in a million stylist and with as much as you pay your full attention to detail, I know you will be a great Mom. Hope to have you do my hair for as long as you can. You and your coworkers need to put some pictures and list some of the things you offer besides hair care. Oh, forgot to mention the great prices. You will surely get you moneys worth.

I visited Intensity yesterday for the first time.  I was nervous, since I have went through several stylist, trying to find one who could compare to my last stylist.  I met my now new stylist, Kerri, there.  She is amazing!  She asked what I wanted, got out color samples to make sure we were both on the same page, then asked if I wore my hair up often.  I thought this was an odd question at first, then she said, "You know, when you have a shadow collor under your hair, it looks kind of funny, do you think?"  I exactly thought that my platinum hair on top, mixed with a dark brown/red on bottom made me look a bit like a skunk, so she said, she'd fix it.  She actually LISTENED to what I wanted, and wasn't afraid to put bold red through some of my platinum blonde, because I don't want hair that looks just the same as the next girl.  My blonde came out beautiful, it wasn't white, it didn't have a tint of gold, it was exactly platinum blonde.  My red was bright and bold, and my shadow color had the slight tent of red I wanted, to blend with my bolder red on top.  She fixed my botched layer job, the last guy gave me, and made my hair look perfect.  She is a true blessing, I even gave her a hug, and scheduled my next visit with her.  It's so great to find someone who will listen to what you want, and then do it.  She even told me next time, if I want pink instead of red, she will do it, and seal the color so it won't bleed onto my blonde (yes, I've had pink in my hair before and after the first wash, all of my blonde turned bubblegum pink)  I've tried someone here who charged me $130 to give me exactly what I didn't want, and she charged $85 to do a perfect job.  I'm 26, so if you're older and think she'll try to give you some crazy colors you don't want, think again!  Her next client was a lady that was around my mothers age, and her hair was a perfect blonde for her, nothing crazy.  I know this is long, but I'm so impressed, I think everyone should try her!
