Go With An Appointment! I cant stress this enough, it's the difference between getting in and out in about 30 minutes to not being seen at all. Walk in to make a check or money order to make a payment, everything else, schedule an appointment.

If this was a real business they would not be in business. You can't even talk to anyone or get the information you need if it isn't available online. I filed my refund in Feb. It's now the middle of May and no word yet. IRS sucks

Great staff. Courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. Left having had a great experience. Not intimidating at all! Made an uncomfortable situation into a learning experience. Came out breathing a sigh of relief.

I think this office gets way more heat than it deserves. First off, 99% of the time someone has to go to an IRS office, it's because they are frustrated or have an issue with the mess that is our federal tax system. Imagine dealing with hopelessly angry people, eight hours a day, every week. That would make anyone curt. Second, I consider myself a personable guy and try to be kind and cheerful around others, especially when they are helping me out. Just a simple kindness like this made the supposedly "rude" security officers actually nice and very helpful. Third, I needed a copy of my taxes to prove my residency for college. The website would not give this too me. I arrived at the office an hour early to get a good place in line, got in immediately after it opened, spent five minutes explaining my situation and filling a short form, and walked out the door. I made a two minute stop by a few hours later and walked out with my forms. Thanks to their timeliness and efficiency, I will be able to afford college again. I am very grateful for this. Taxation is a disgusting beast that is impossible to tame by one office, especially when it services over a quarter million people in this case. This was by far my most painless encounter with my government. Show up early, be prepared and kind, and you will have a positive experience like me.
